CBSE Class 12th Term 2 Physics Exam Revision

You can never undermine the significance of revision because no matter how well you prepare, a final revision is essential to nail the exam. Here are the best ways to revise Physics for CBSE Class 12th Term 2 Exam.

    1. Create a study environment: Physics requires ultimate concentration. Students must designate a comfortable place before they begin their final revision. So, identify a well-lit quiet area that has minimal distractions. It would be best to temporarily disable social media accounts to focus on revision.
    2. Formulate a realistic revision timetable: Most students create a schedule for preparation but not revision. It is crucial to modify your preparation pattern when you are revising. The main reason is that you will be aware of your strengths and weaknesses at the revision stage. Prepare a topic-wise daily revision program while prioritising the Physics topics that are your weakness.
    3. Be realistic: Students must set a reasonable target while ensuring that they do not overburden themselves. Choose one easy and one challenging topic for a day if you cover two topics per day. If you are planning to revise one topic per day, you must keep the challenging Physics topic with a subject that you find easy.
    4. Be precise: Students must be specific and to the point while revising. It is best to keep your Physics syllabus by your side so that you do not waste your time on something unimportant.
    5. Use revision notes: Revising from revision notes or summary pages is best for the final rounds of revision. The revision notes will cover all the important formulae and concepts precisely. So, avoid reading from the Physics books for last-minute preparation. Cramming new Physics topics right before Class 12 board exams is not wise.
    6. Practice problem-solving techniques: Students must practice going through a question step by step. Also, students must solve as many questions as possible. Refer to NCERT Solutions for Class 12 Physics or HC Verma Solutions to clarify doubts and get the simplest solutions.
    7. Practice previous years’ question papers: Practicing Physics’ last years’ question papers accelerates the knowledge base, accuracy with speed, and preparedness to take the final Class 12 Board Exams. It allows students to self-evaluate their preparation level.

8 Tips to Ace CBSE Class 12 Physics Term 2 Exam 2022

    FAQs

    1. Which books are the best for Physics revision for CBSE Class 12th Term 2 Exam?

To make the most of their time, students must select 2-3 good books for revision. NCERT Class 12 Physics is the best book, and most of the questions in the Class 12 Board Exams are asked from the same. Once you have completed your syllabus with NCERT, you must refer to H.C. Verma. H C Verma is a must-have book for Class 12 Physics. Students can also refer to S L Arora, Xam Idea, and Pradeep for conceptual questions frequently asked in CBSE Class 12th boards. However, books are only for reference during the revision stage. Students must opt for their notes or summary sheets for revision.

    2. How can I ace numerical questions in the Class 12 Physics exam?

Often, students find Class 12 Physics numerical questions challenging. The following tips will help you ace Physics numerical questions in the term 2 board exams:

    • Do not rush while reading the numerical questions. Take time to read and understand the requirements of the question.
    • Write down the given and the asked quantities at the solution’s beginning.
    • Make it a habit to create a rough diagram or a flowchart for the numerical questions if required.

    3. Which chapters are the most important for Physics Class 12 Board Exams?

Students need to be extra proficient in Ray Optics, and Wave Optics as these two chapters are the most important ones based on the weightage of marks for Physics Class 12 Board Exams. The most important topics in these chapters are refraction and dispersion of light, use of optical fibres, and reflection of waves. Students must ensure the following points while revising these chapters:

    • They are well-versed with ray optics derivations.
    • Thoroughly practice the numerical questions on total internal reflection, thin lens formula, optical instruments, YDSE, diffraction, and lens maker’s formula.
    • Proficiency in all ray diagrams of optical instruments
    • Get derivations for intensity, amplitude, phase and path difference for superposition of waves at fingertips.

    4. Should I refer to NCERT Solutions for Class 12 Physics?

Students must refer to NCERT Solutions for Class 12 Physics, especially in the revision stage, to not waste their time hunting for the right answers elsewhere. The NCERT Solutions for Class 12 Physics provides a good grasp of all the important concepts and helps students understand complex problems while learning how to approach the most challenging questions and create error-free answers. Moreover, the answers in the NCERT Physics solutions are in simple language to help students easily comprehend and develop an in-depth understanding. Most importantly, they follow the exam pattern and the CBSE Physics Class 12 syllabus.

    5. Which topics are the most important in the chapter- Atoms?

Atoms and nuclei hold approximately 6 marks in the Class 12 Physics Board Exams. Students must focus on the most important Physics concepts related to the chapter. Students ought to be clear on the basic postulates of Bohr and Rutherford’s model of an atom and their respective drawbacks. At least one numerical question about hydrogen spectrum and energy level will be a part of the Physics board exam, so students must ensure that they practice these thoroughly. Some key topics in the chapter are:

    • Alpha-particle scattering experiment
    • Rutherford’s model of an atom
    • Bohr model
    • Energy levels
    • Hydrogen spectrum

    6. Are CBSE Board Sample Papers for Class 12 Physics helpful for exam preparation?

Irrespective of your amount of learning and studying, your Class 12 board exam requires a certain level of confidence which is never complete without solving sample papers. Students must opt for CBSE Board Sample Papers for Class 12 to develop accuracy and speed simultaneously while attempting the questions. Moreover, the sample papers follow the exact CBSE exam pattern and marking scheme as per the board guidelines. So, once you have completed the syllabus, devote your time to practising with sample papers.
