    What is Chemistry?

Before diving deep into the topic, one needs to understand chemistry. Chemistry is a branch of science that deals with the behaviour and properties of matter. Chemistry occurs naturally and involves the understanding of how matter is formed. The matter is a compound composed of particles such as molecules, ions, atoms, etc.

Below mentioned are some of the strategies to secure good grades in CBSE Class 12 Chemistry:

    Thorough understanding of the syllabus

Firstly, before doing anything else, one should research the CBSE Class 12 Term 2 Chemistry syllabus well. It is fundamental to know what things they have to study while preparing for the board exam. As soon as they figure out the syllabus, it is much simpler to plan and schedule the study sessions accordingly.

Furthermore, it is essential to differentiate between crucial and minor topics. That alone will reduce a considerable amount of time-wasting. Therefore, a thorough understanding of the syllabus will give a very good kick-start to our learning journey.

    Scheduling learning sessions

For studying CBSE Class 12 Chemistry, one needs to be aware that it is impossible to cover everything in two or three days. So, everything should be planned out before starting the learning process. Moreover, if we prepare in such a hurry, we will memorise the topics rather than logically understand them. That will be of no use in the longer run.

The topics should be filtered so that it is convenient for the student to study. For instance, one can divide the topics based on their difficulty level. Or else, one can also split it based on how relevant the topic is to other concepts and study similar ones, leaving the remaining topics to be covered later.

These topics should be marked with specific timings that the student requires to complete based on his learning capacity.

    How to comprehend the topics?

In Class 12 Chemistry, one should never mug up the concepts. Students should have the habit of understanding and learning. In addition to this, the learners should not intensely study organic chemistry. As it contains reactions and formulae, students should try to understand the concept and solve some equations. It will be more than enough. The main reason not to cram the organic part of the chemistry is that it will confuse the students while in the exam, and they will write wrong reaction equations.

One good of learning this would be by performing laboratory exercises. This will help students gain practical knowledge of chemical reactions. While doing so, they should be aware of certain things, such as considering the element’s state, if it is solid or liquid, or gas, while writing the chemical reaction.

In addition to this, Class 12 students should understand the numerical and their formulae. Therefore, for a better learning experience, CBSE aspirants should try to relate theory topics to real-life applications.

    Practicing sample question papers

The students of CBSE Class 12 should take practice tests. They should practice the sample papers of Chemistry. It is very simple to find Chemistry sample questions online. For example, NEET aspirants can download question papers using certain dedicated websites. The designated board will prepare the sample for Class 12 Chemistry. For example, the ICSE board designed sample papers for ICSE exams.

Practicing the Chemistry sample papers helps aspirants understand the question pattern and acknowledge how much time they take to accomplish each task. That will also assist the students in understanding the places where they need their most focus.

Class 12 Chemistry sample papers play a vital role in getting the students to understand how organic and inorganic parts of Chemistry are divided in the main exam.

Practicing the latest previous year’s question samples

It is good to go through previous years’ question papers while preparing for the CBSE exam. It helps the aspirants understand the most commonly asked questions and which ones should need more focus.

These papers assist the learners to self-assess and examine themselves by solving them. It paves a great way in boosting confidence and decrease stress and anxiety levels.

    Considering additional assistance

If the CBSE students feel that they need assistance in studying the topics because they cannot understand well at school, they can opt for some additional classes. That can be from staying late at school and getting tutored by a teacher or taking private tuition classes near their house.

Furthermore, these coaching classes will have a tremendous impact on their studies and help them understand chemistry’s organic and inorganic components. Students require constant revisions to sustain the subject.

What to do and what not to do?

Utmost dedication and concentration play a vital role in scoring good grades in Chemistry. The CBSE Class 12 students should dedicate most of their time preparing for the exam and keeping away from entertainment activities such as watching movies, playing video games, partying during weekends, social media, etc.

To keep themselves fit and healthy, they should rather spend a sufficient amount of time doing outdoor activities such as running, jogging, yoga, meditation, gym, etc. That will make them feel more energetic physically and feel less stressed mentally.

While preparing for the Class 12 Chemistry exam, students can participate in studying in groups if they feel more comfortable sharing notes and ideas among their peers. This will boost their morale and improve their confidence as they benefit from their friends by exchanging knowledge.

    Textbook preparation

The students are advised not to use multiple author books but instead follow either one or two good books or guides, which will be sufficient to learn the topics. The students of Class 12 shall study various topics but should avoid focusing too much on minor and unimportant concepts. This will not only waste time but will also make the students mentally exhausted.

While learning from NCERT Solutions, the aspirants can mark down important points and take notes of all the necessary concepts. This will help them during the revision, making the learning habit more organised.

    Conclusion

To conclude, studying for CBSE Chemistry Class 12 Term 2 exam might be a very long process that involves concentration and dedication from students. However, whenever we are prepared well enough, we can easily come across all the hardships using our sheer willpower.

So, to keep in mind, one should have a thorough knowledge of the syllabus, followed by making timetables for timely learning of all the necessary concepts and topics. This alone will reduce most of the work and improve the productivity of the students by saving a considerable amount of time.

After doing so, start preparing the topics daily using strategies and tricks offered by teachers and other higher experienced chemistry professors. The students should not forget to take an occasional break between their studies and reward themselves with outdoor activities after accomplishing certain topics.

    FAQs

    1. What amount of time should one spend studying CBSE Class 12 Chemistry to score good grades?

The amount of time a student should spend studying Chemistry depends totally on them. This is because it is dependent on certain factors such as how crisp and intelligent the student is, whether they are a fast learner and understands the gist of the concepts very well compared to fellow students. Therefore, if they are smart enough, they don’t have to bother spending too much time, but if they are slow learners, it is a must that the students spend a considerable amount of time, like around 1 to 2 hours at the minimum.

    2. Is taking private classes or coaching classes mandatory for students to obtain good grades?

Coaching and private tutoring classes are optional only and are purely dependent on the student’s situation. If a student fails to grasp the concepts and topics thoroughly during regular class hours, he may opt to do extra studying hours with the guidance of a teacher. This will help the student understand the concepts and make him score good grades. However, if the student is good at studying Chemistry, then tuitions and coaching classes are a waste of time and money for him.

    3. How to score maximum marks on the Chemistry board exam?

First things first, one should never practice memorizing just to obtain good marks. Instead, they should comprehend the concepts and ask doubts whenever it is confusing or hard to understand. Secondly, being attentive in classes helps the learners grab the concepts then and there while being taught. The students should learn organic chemistry, understand the numeric from various forms, try solving previous year’s question papers, solve sample papers, and start preparing each day instead of panicking and studying stressfully at the very last minute.

    4. How to answer the questions in each section?

To begin with, try to answer all the questions straightforwardly. Do not leave any questions unanswered and only write what is essential based on the marking scheme. For instance, do not write 7 or 8 lines for a two-mark question. Only go into stating the details if it is a big question and carries 5 or 10 marks.

    5. After passing the Class 12 Term 2 CBSE Chemistry exam, what are the career aspects?

There are various jobs related to the field of chemistry in our country. Some of the most famous are forensic scientists, professors of chemistry, pharmacist, geochemist, water chemist, materials scientists, chemists, etc. Apart from that, chemistry is a widely used subject, and it always has a great amount of demand in the whole world and not just in India or Asia. Students can even go for higher studies abroad and study at well-recognized universities and do research and projects to enhance their knowledge further in the chemical field.

    6. How to obtain a pass mark (minimum mark) on CBSE boards in Class 12 Chemistry?

If a student does not consider chemistry as his favourite subject can also get passing marks by studying the most important topics. They can refer to previous year’s question papers and study selectively the most commonly asked questions, and to be on the safer side, they should at least cover 1 or 2 extra topics which they find very simple and easy. Moreover, they should also know the minimum passing marks and study selectively.
