The time right before the exams can be nerve-racking for most of us, and most of the time, we don’t know where to start. This does not happen because we don’t have the study resources or we haven’t studied the syllabus before, but rather because we are in a stressed situation. Our adrenaline and cortisol hormone levels are high, inculcating negative thoughts and vibes in our brains, and the result is us worrying unnecessarily and not doing good in the exams. CBSE Term 2 exams are near, and the students are battling the syllabus. Here are some last-minute tips to help you prepare for your exam calmly and enter the examination hall confidently.
Last-minute tips for CBSE Term 2 exams
1. Know your syllabus and resources:
The syllabus should be concise and defined at the last moment. Taking up new books, new resources, and new strategies won’t work at this time; rather, it will make you distracted. Ask your seniors for notes and strategies that worked for them, and try applying those. Try to finish every subject as soon as possible and move on to the next one. There is no time to procrastinate. For example, if you don’t have time to study the whole NCERT syllabus for physics, study from the notes you had taken while attending classes, solve the numerical questions from the NCERT book, solve the previous five year’s Class 12 board question papers and you are done. Numerical-type questions are very important from the point of view of JEE Main 2022 too, so practising those will benefit you a lot at the end of the day. If you need more resources for studying physics, check HC Verma Solutions, NCERT Solutions for Class 12 Physics, and Physics Concepts. Subject-wise NCERT syllabus is given here at NCERT Solutions for your reference.
2. Control your environment:
This is an important time of your academic life, so at this point, allow only the people and influences in your life who inspire you to focus on your academic goal rather than distracting you. A few years from now, all of your present best friends; will be busy in their own lives in different professional colleges across different courses. You will have contact with only a few of them, that too a vague one.
So, please don’t waste your precious time because of them. What matters at the end of the day is where you stand, what you have achieved, and how successful you are. We all have to fight our battles. If you learn to avoid distractions, you have already won half the battle. Students get entangled in different distractions, which stops them from achieving their goals. So be the winner!

3. Please stay away from social media:
Although the point about distractions above carries a sub-text for staying away from social media, it has become such a time-waster in the present era that more emphasis needs to be put on it. Be mature, be responsible and stay away from this distraction at this crucial time. Investing your time in browsing social media apps like Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok is very inefficient, so you should stay away from these activities for the last few months before your Term 2 exam.
Imagine there is a bank account that credits your account each morning with 5000 rupees. It carries over no balance from day today. Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balances you failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every rupee, of course! Such is the importance of time. Each day bestows us with thousands of rupees in the form of minutes. It is up to us how much of this time we care to utilize productively.

4. Revision is the key:
If you watch interviews of toppers of any exam, you will find one thing common in their strategies, that is, they revise their courses as many times as possible. This single factor will decide whether you score more than 95% in your Term 2 exam or less than 95%. Your goal should not be only completing the syllabus; your goal should be to lock the syllabus you have completed in your brain. There is no other way to achieve this other than repeated revisions.
Ideally, every chapter needs to be reviewed at least three times, and important chapters should be reviewed at least 4-5 times. Check Important Concepts if you need more information regarding the topics you need to focus on. Revising your NCERT syllabus many times will prepare you from the point of view of your respective NEET 2022 Exam Pattern and JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern. Prepare a practical timetable where you target the topics you need to complete each day from now up to your exam. Follow the timetable you have made religiously. Also, set some time aside for doing revisions.
7. Improve your handwriting and practice writing fast:
We all have come across the situation where the time for completing the exam has already come to an end, and we are still battling to write those last few answers in the paper. This is what should not happen in your upcoming CBSE term two exams. Practise writing fast and maintain a good writing speed in the examination hall to not miss any answers due to lack of time. Also, try to improve your handwriting. The examiner tends to reward more marks to the students whose answer sheets look clean and organised. Even if it is only 1-2 marks per paper, it will impact your overall percentage score at last.
8. Study previous year question papers:
Solving previous year question papers can be a blessing for preparing for any exam, and the same is the case with your CBSE Term 2 exam. Study subject-wise and chapter-wise question papers for the last 6-7 years, and you will later realise how much it helped you build your scores.
9. Eat and sleep well:
Right before the exams, all the students try to make the most out of time by studying till late and ignoring their meals. This will make you exhausted and tired at the end of the day. So make sure to eat timely and balanced meals and follow a healthy sleep schedule. A healthy body nurtures a healthy brain.
If you follow all these tips, you will score excellent marks in CBSE Class 12th term two exams. Be confident, believe in yourself, and keep working hard!
