Understand the CUET NTA Exam Pattern

Mastering the CUET NTA Exam pattern is critical for increasing preparedness. The most current release states that the Common University Entrance Test would be divided into four sections:

    • Section 1 A: Thirteen Languages
    • Section 1 B: Nineteen Languages
    • Section 2: Domain-specific evaluation (Have to choose 6 from 27 domains)
    • Section 3: General examination

The paper is available in thirteen languages: English, Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Assamese, Odia, and Punjabi.

Students will be allocated one mark for every correct answer. On the other hand, 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Check CUET Exam Pattern 2023 – Marking Scheme, Questions, Total Marks | AESL.

    Examine the CUET Syllabus 2023

Students must completely review the complete CUET syllabus to perform well during the CUET Exam. Applicants must organize their strategies monthly, weekly, and daily basis. There is no victory without dedication and hard work; thus, to succeed in the exam, students can better prepare by determining which areas need to be covered in more depth and which require only a cursory understanding. The student might do so by following the guidelines outlined below:

    • Make a list of specific topics that need to be learned.
    • Divide the various topics into simple and challenging categories.
    • Make a list of the topics that will receive the most weightage (as determined by the previous year’s question papers).

    Read and Write

Students must know that Section 1A of the CUET NTA 2023 Examination is the language exam paper. This section has questions about grammar, reading and comprehension, and vocabulary.

To ace this section, students must daily read newspapers and other publications (The Hindu and Times of India) to improve their reading and writing skills in English. Similarly, to enhance their command of Hindi, students can read the Dainik Bharat newspaper. Students must make it their daily habit to read newspapers for at least 30 – 60 minutes to develop their critical thinking and linguistic skills.

To perform well on the CUET NTA 2023 Exam’s Section 1A: language paper, students must be able to read, listen, and speak English. Students should follow CUET 2023 Preparation | AESL tips.

Do your Homework: Make a List of Colleges/Universities

Before moving into the depth of the examination, students need to choose the colleges/universities and courses for which they want to apply. Students must create a list of the prerequisites for the courses they want to take at each college. Streamline all requirements from the ‘application for admission’ into a single document. Compile a list of the domain subjects and languages students need to prepare. Choose the correct materials and get started.

    Practice on Sample Papers

After mastering the syllabus, students must practice as many sample papers as feasible. It will clarify the most often questioned topics and familiarise students with the examination framework. Students can set the alarm to check their speed, accuracy, and writing skills and can gradually work on improving them.

    Explore CUET Preparation books

Students must create a list of reference books from which they need to prepare for the CUET Exam. Students should purchase at least 2 – 3 CUET prep books, depending on the subject they enrolled for. The books can assist applicants in determining which themes to cover and study and what to expect during the entrance exam. Students can also use Class 11 and 12 NCERT textbooks to enhance their groundwork for further higher-level topics.

Examine CUET NTA Previous Year’s Question Papers

Applicants attempting the CUET NTA 2023 Entrance Exam should solve the previous year’s question papers to fully understand the exam structure and the type of questions that they can ask. Students can discover which courses are given great priority and which topics might assist the applicant score higher in the exam by analyzing previous questions.

    Prepare a Vocabulary List

Students must prepare a vocabulary list that includes phrases, synonyms, antonyms, idioms, and other complex words. In this way, students can increase their command of the language. Students can do this by making a list of new terminology and definitions that they come across while reading a newspaper or watching English movies.

Make it a habit to review the notes at least once a week. It will help students remember the terminology for a longer time. Numerous apps accessible on websites might help students increase their vocabulary.

    Practice Additional Questions

Practicing additional questions is one of the best techniques for students to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Students can also identify the most suitable method when attempting the actual CUET NTA Entrance Exam. Answering additional questions can help students prepare for the entrance exam in various ways, from time management to comprehending the paper’s structure. Refer to CUET 2023 FAQs.

    Read Passage Intelligently

Before the CUET NTA, try to develop a strong passage reading methodology. It will save students time and hassle in the long run. Students must use the following techniques to answer the reading comprehension smartly.

    • Scan the passage: Start by simply reading the opening paragraph, ending paragraph, and first and last sentences of every body paragraph to scan the unseen passage successfully.
    • Move directly to the questions.
    • Summarise the passage: Students must rapidly summarise the passage and do a fast reading. Students make sure it doesn’t slow down the speed.

    Create a Timetable

Setting a target is essential for accomplishing goals. Having the correct answer is meaningless if students are not applying it at an appropriate time. The same is with making a timetable; students must judiciously use the time in their hands. Creating a timetable ensures the building up of correct time management skills, which are essential during preparation and when taking the examination.

    Time Management

Preparing for the CUET NTA 2023 Entrance Exam is one of the real challenges for students. Setting up a comprehensive study program can help students manage their time effectively for CUET preparation and pass the examination with good grades.

    Attempting Mock Test

A mock test can assist students in comprehending the format of the question paper. It will give students an indication of how long it will take to answer each question in the examination. Attempting mock tests improves students’ productivity and boosts their confidence.

    Choose your Favourite Subject

Students must select their favourite subject for the preparation for CUET NTA 2023 Exam. It will make their learning more enjoyable and will help in boosting their confidence. If students are not interested in a particular subject, they won’t remember them for long. Thus, before choosing any subjects, students must review the NCERT textbook for Class 12 and evaluate the subjects they are familiar with. Students should choose domain-related subjects based on their interests and abilities.

    Consider Connotation and Context

This tip is essential for answering intensive reading section questions. Look for terms that have a favorable or unfavorable connotation in the section that the question refers to. It can help students eliminate unnecessary options.

Context is equally critical! Examine the sentences surrounding the line that is mentioned in the question as well. Look for terms like “although,” “rather than,” or “yet.” Students should also look for powerful adjectives that can assist them in determining what to mean.

    Remember Grammar Rules

Since the CUET NTA 2023 reading and writing section uses a standardised approach to grammar, it’s beneficial to learn the rules to avoid confusion. Even if students think they are quite skilled at language, it isn’t always enough.

Students should understand the grammatical rules examined on the CUET NTA 2023 Exam. It will help students from inadvertently selecting NO CHANGE for sentences that contain faults according to the CUET NTA official grammatical requirements.

    Compete Yourself

Competing with oneself is one of the most important tips for clearing the CUET NTA 2023 Exam. Students shouldn’t be discouraged by seeing someone else’s preparation because everyone has different preparation techniques and learning styles. Thus, there is no need to take unnecessary stress. Students need to track their progress daily to analyse their performance and work on it accordingly.

    Skip Difficult Questions

It is an important suggestion for students struggling with time constraints in CUET NTA 2023 Entrance Exam. If students have any difficulty answering a question, skip it and move on to the next question. Enduring difficult questions may lose students’ easy points if they miss out on easier questions in the later section. Students may circle any questions they skip, so they’re simpler to find when going back over the section.

Keep a Close Watch on the Clock

During the examination, keeping a watch on the time is important. Students should be completely familiar with their exam strategy. It should include timelines for what they should be focusing on for a particular time milestone. Students must allow 2-3% of their mental capacity for glancing at the clock intermittently to ensure they are on track and alter the speed as needed.

    Double-Check the Answers

Commonly, students feel tired after completing the CUET NTA 2023 Exam, but they should always double-check their answers first. When students go through each section, circle any questions they are unclear about so that they can double-check the answers strategically.

Prepare the Night Before the Exam

Students will undoubtedly be nervous on the morning of the exam. Students need to carry many documents to the CUET NTA 2023 Exam day, and to avoid a last-minute hurry; it’s better to compile all the important documents a night before the exam. Students should also bring light snacks, a water bottle, and a watch to keep track of the pace. Pack everything the night before. Don’t put it off!

    Stay Relaxed

Students shouldn’t be alarmed if they see a question they don’t understand. It’s best to keep going. If students need to skip certain questions at first, it’s totally fine. Even though there is great pressure to complete each segment on time, there is nothing wrong with answering the questions out of sequence.

It’s Never Too Late To Start

Even though the CUET NTA 2023 Exams are approaching, it doesn’t matter if students have completed their syllabus or not. All they need is the correct study tools. Keeping up with current events worldwide is now one of the requirements for scoring well on this exam. If students think they do not have enough time or resources to study effectively, online lectures for coaching can help.
