CUET 2023 FAQs: CUET Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What is CUET exam?
Answer: Common University Entrance Test (CUET) has been introduced for admission into UG programmes in Central and Participating Universities for Academic Session 2023 under the Ministry of Education (MoE). The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will provide a common platform and equal opportunity to candidates across the country, especially those from rural and other remote areas, and help establish better connections with the Universities. A single application form will enable the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admission process to various Central and participating Universities. 

Question: What programmes are offered in CUET Participating Universities?
Answer: The details of Programme of Studies, Eligibility Criteria, Structure etc. for the participating universities are available on the official website of NTA website https://cuet.nta.nic.in/. Students can check all the details on the website. 

Question: For CUET, can a Candidates apply in more than one course?
Answer: An applicant can apply for three test Papers by paying the application fee as mentioned. An applicant can further apply for additional Test Papers by paying additional application fees as applicable. The candidate must pay attention to selecting only one Question paper in a slot.

Question: What is the CUET mode of the exam?
Answer: CUET will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode as per the schedule which is yet to be released.  

Question: What is the Medium of paper?
Answer: CUET exam will be conducted in English and other 12 languages. 

Question: What are the examination dates for CUET 2023?
Answer: The CUET exam dates for 2023 have been announced by the authorities on the official website. 

Question: How the admissions will be given based on CUET?
Answer: Admissions are handled at the level of each of these Central Universities for their respective programs. once the CUCET results are declared, the respective Central Universities will declare the counselling/admission schedule and merit list based on the weightage on CUET 2023 score and other criteria of the participating universities.

Question: Can I submit two application forms for two courses at a time?
Answer: Applicants can apply for multiple courses of CUET. However, candidates should not apply for multiple forms for the same course, which may lead to the cancellation of the Application form.

Question: What documents do I need while filling out the application form?
Answer: Candidates are advised to keep these documents ready before proceeding to the CUET 2023 application process:

Question: What is the syllabus for 2023?
Answer: Some of the major topics that need to be covered in the CUET 2023 are English, Reasoning, General Aptitude, Analytical Skills, Numerical Aptitude/Data Interpretation, General Knowledge, and various other topics. For UGQP01 there is a total of 4 sections that are included in the exam.

Question: How do I register for CUET 2023?
Answer: Here are the instructions for filling out the online CUET 2023 Application form:

  • The Application form will be released through online mode.
  • Candidates will be able to fill out the application form from the 3rd week of March 2023.
  • The application form submission process will be regulated for eligible candidates only.

Question: What are the different modes to apply for CUET 2023?
Answer: The CUET 2023 application forms can only be submitted through online mode via the official website. The application form will not be accepted if filled in by any other medium.

Question: How can I make corrections if any mistakes are made in the CUET application form 2023?
Answer: Once candidates have submitted the CUET 2023 application form, no changes can be made further. However, NTA may open a correction window and after the closure of the window, all particulars entered by the candidate should be considered as final.

Question: Is it possible to take the CUET exam on any computer?
Answer: No, candidates have to appear at the CUET exam centres to appear for the exam. If they fail to do so, their application will be rejected.

Question: What would happen if my system stops working while appearing for the CUET 2023 exam centre?
Answer: In case of any technical issues, you need to inform the invigilator immediately. They will help in fixing the issue or will assign you another PC. Your exam time in this case will commence from the time you discontinued your exam. There will be no loss of time for you.

Question: What is the appropriate time to incorporate CUET UG question papers 2023 into the study plan?
Answer: Candidates should start practicing the CUET UG question papers at least 2-3 months prior to the exam, or after completing the entire CUET UG syllabus.

Question: Are there any long answer questions that candidates can prepare for CUET?
Answer: No, all questions will be asked in MCQs form only. Candidates are advised to solve multiple CUET 2023 sample papers to get a fair idea about the exam pattern.

Question: Are graduation books enough to compete in the CUET UG programs?
Answer: CUET 2023 will be divided into three parts section I (A and B), section II, and section III. Section I (A and B) includes questions from languages, section II includes domain-specific questions and section III will have questions for General Test. 

Question: What are the instructions to be followed at CUET exam centers?
Answer: There are a few important instructions that have to be followed at CUET Exam Center: Students will need to reach the exam center at least half an hour before the reporting time. They will also need to carry their admit card and other valid ID proofs to the exam center.
