Concentrate on gaining conceptual knowledge: Make sure to pay attention to every detail while going through the chapters. Learn all the terminologies, examples, and exceptions by heart.
Maintain a proper set of notes: No matter how much information you acquire from different sources during your preparation time, if you don’t revise it, you won’t be able to solve questions based on them confidently. The only way to revise the information you have gained during your preparation is by maintaining a proper set of notes. Revising from the notes written in your own handwriting is very effective for recalls.
Practice active learning: Whenever you study a topic, close your book to recall the information you retain from the topic. This active recall of the information you just studied helps reinforce it in your brain so that you are less likely to forget it.
Manage time effectively: You are given a fixed set of twenty hours for each day which you need to utilise for studying and engaging in other activities. No matter how much you wish for it, your day can not have more than twenty-four hours. If you do not plan your time efficiently, you will have to face lots of problems due to a shortage of time. You must ensure you make a study schedule and follow it religiously. Your time should be efficiently planned until the last minute.
Practise Previous Year Question Papers: Solving previous year question papers is very important, especially when it comes to preparing for competitive exams. As discussed earlier, a good number of questions in the NEET Biology paper come directly from the Previous Year’s Question Papers. Moreover, you get acquainted with the paper pattern and the examiner’s style of asking questions. All this plays a very important role in increasing your NEET score.
Conclusion
Although all the chapters in the syllabus need to be covered when preparing for competitive exams, special emphasis must be placed on the important chapters. This is because a thorough understanding of these chapters will help you solve most of the questions in the exam. The objective of providing you with a list of the important chapters is not to narrow your attention to these chapters and ignore the rest of the syllabus. Doing so will greatly decrease your chances of cracking the exam. Just study everything and then revise these chapters at the end as many times as possible. All the best!
