CBSE Class 10 Science Term 2 Exam 2022: Question Paper Pattern
- The question paper had a total of 12 printed pages
- There were a total of 15 questions in the paper
- All questions were compulsory
- There were internal choices in some of the questions
- The question paper was divided into three sections:
Section A: with 7 questions of 2 marks each
Section B: with 6 questions of 3 marks each
Section C: with 2 case-based questions of 4 marks each

- The difficulty level of CBSE Class-10 Science paper was from Easy to Difficult.
- After detailed analysis, the breakup of the Science paper is
- Easy questions – around 30 %
- Moderate questions – around 50%
- Difficult questions – around 20%
- The average score expected by the students overall is 30 to 32.
- Pattern of paper was same as given in the sample paper issued by CBSE.
- Section –A:
- This section was 85% Easy and 15% Moderately difficult.
- The section contained 4 questions from Biology with one internal choice, 2 questions from Chemistry, 1 question from Physics with one internal choice.
- All questions were from prescribed NCERT Textbook.
- The number of easy questions in this section was 5 and 2 were moderate difficult questions.
- This section carried 2 questions from ‘How do organism reproduce’, 2 questions from ‘Our Environment’, 1 question from ‘Magnetic effect of current’, 1 question from ‘Carbon and its Compounds’ and 1 question from ‘Periodic Classification of Elements’.
- No confusing and lengthy questions were a part of this section.
- Section –B:
- This section was 100% moderate.
- All questions were from prescribed NCERT text book.
- This section contained 2 questions from each subject (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) with internal choice in Chemistry and Physics only.
- This section carried 1 question from ‘Periodic Classification of Elements’, 1 question from ‘Carbon and its Compounds’, 2 questions from ‘Electricity’, 2 questions from chapter ‘Heredity and Evolution’ and ‘Our Environment’.
- There were no confusing questions in this section but the questions were lengthy.
- Section –C:
- This section was 100% difficult.
- 2 questions were based on Case-Study pattern comprising 1 question from Biology, chapter ‘Heredity and Evolution’, whereas 1 question from Physics, chapter ‘Magnetic effects of current.’
- All questions were from prescribed NCERT text book.
