More than 20 lakh students take the CBSE board exams every year!

If we calculate and consider the numbers from the state, ICSE, and other central boards, the number is mind-boggling – more than 1 crore students every year! Now imagine the pressure your child might have to go through the exam preparation phase for board exams.

The data is going to be somewhat similar for the upcoming board exams 2022. Class 10 and 12 Term 2 exams date sheets are finally out and students are busy preparing to give their best shot in Class 10 CBSE 2022 Board Exams and Class 12 CBSE 2022 Board Exams. This is the phase where students are nervous and confused.

As a parent, you can’t change this, but you can take small steps to make the Term 2 2022 board exams preparation journey easier for your child. In this article, we will discuss some tips to help your child pass board exams and relieve stress.

  1. Help them Manage their Time

Time management is the greatest problem faced by students after class 8th due to the increased syllabus and subjects. Students have so many things to do from attending school to completing the homework, from being present for tuitions and extra-curricular activities to creating a self-study plan.

In this situation, as a parent, you can lend a helping hand to build a useful and practical time-table for their days and weeks to help them efficiently utilize their time.

  1. Be there for your child: It Works like Magic

Being with your children can have a very positive impact not only physically, but also emotionally. Students typically face tremendous anxiety and pressure during the exam preparation phase. Knowing that someone is always there for them can make a huge difference to their mental well-being.

  1. Use the Right Words

Each child is unique and you should celebrate their differences and uniqueness. Your child might be a future designer, a writer, or a dancer. Even if your child doesn’t score high in one subject, he/she may do better in another subject. Every child has his/her own strengths which help him/her achieve long-term success.. Scores are not the only measure of success in life. As a parent, you must help your child identify the areas of strength (perhaps skill and career assessment).

  1. Monitor their Progress & Help them boost their Board exam preparation

Weekly assessments can help track your child’s progress and identify weaknesses. Encourage your child to regularly take mock tests in an exam-like environment and regularly complete worksheets from the previous year. Make sure they finish the mock test in the prescribed time only. This activity will help your child learn thoroughly and will give him/her the required confidence boost.

Particularly for the board class students, NCERT solutions can be really helpful as most of the exam syllabus is from NCERT only. NCERT Solutions can boost your child’s analytical thinking process by helping him/her tackle one problem from different angles. Given below are the links for Aakash NCERT Solutions for class 12 which are prepared subject-wise and chapter-wise.

  1. Motivate Them with Rewards

Your child will do better if you set goals during the preparation journey and reward each goal with his or her favorite items.

Both, short and long-term rewards can be set.  Setting short-term goals and long-term goals can help your child stay motivated throughout the preparation phase for the CBSE board exams 2022.

  1. Listen to Them after Exams

The time immediately after the exam is very important. This is when your child needs someone to share their feelings, fears, and concerns about the imminent consequences of the paper. Listen to their side of the story and give them time to talk about the same without judging them.

 Conclusion

Every child is different and nobody knows your child better than you. Helping your child prepare for the upcoming CBSE board exams 2022 is great, but you need to know where to draw the line. If your child feels like you are interfering in their life at any point, understand their needs and be open with them to give them space when they need it.
