CUET 2022 Exam Paper Format
Candidates preparing for the CUET entrance examination require some important tools that can enhance their level of preparation. Previous year’s question papers are considered the most important tool among all such tools. Students should also know the exam paper format and the syllabus for effective preparation. The CUET entrance exam will be a computer-based test. The students will have to answer multiple-choice questions from the three sections, including the language section, domain-specific subject section and a general test section. The expected format of the exam paper is given below, and each question will carry five marks. Students are required to go through it carefully for clarity.

Students should solve the CUET previous year’s questions to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. The CUET entrance test syllabus is not the same for all the courses. Students should carefully go through the CUET syllabus for their particular course and divide it into sections for better understanding. Students should construct a proper study timetable and divide their time equally between preparation for class 12 board exams and the CUET preparation.
Interested students are suggested to visit the National Testing Agency’s official website to download the exam pattern and previous year’s questions. The Aspirants do not have much idea and experience about the entrance exam, so they should enrol in coaching centres to receive guidelines and study materials. Aspirants should sincerely listen to the advice of the expert teachers and solve question papers and sit for CUET 2022 Mock tests. Otherwise, they will not be able to qualify for the exam.
4. Are the students allowed to apply for more than one university in the CUET?
At the time of registration, there is no restriction on the number of universities that the candidate can select from the list of 44 central universities that accept the CUET Scores. Students should list the names of the preferred universities where they wish to get admission. There is no need to specify the order of preferences. Candidates must submit only one application form instead of multiple application forms, even if they wish to apply to more than one university.
5. Is the general test section compulsory to attempt for all the students?
The Section III of the CUET question paper is designed to contain questions on general awareness and analytical and logical reasoning. These topics are not included in the class 12 curriculum, and the students have to prepare for them separately depending on the requirement of the course. The general test section is not compulsory to attempt for all the students. It depends on the course requirement or programmes the student wants to opt for. Suppose the candidate wants to pursue a particular course from a university for which the general test is compulsory. The student has to attempt the general test section in the CUET question paper and score well.
6. Will board marks not be considered from 2022 onwards for admission to central universities?
The main purpose of introducing the Common University Entrance Test is to reduce the weightage of class 12 board exam marks to a certain extent. Suppose some students have scored low marks on class 12 boards. In this case, the students cannot get admission to well-reputed universities. The CUET entrance exam has been introduced to reduce the prominence given to class 12 board exam marks. The merit list for UG admissions in well recognised central universities will be prepared based on the CUET Score. However, the class 12 board examination marks will not be neglected totally. 50% weightage will be given to class 12 board examination results and the rest to the CUET Score.
7. Is the CUET exam very difficult to crack on the first attempt?
The Common University Entrance Test is not very difficult to crack in the first attempt compared to the JEE Mains or NEET exam. The difficulty level of the questions varies from moderate to tough. Students can easily qualify for the entrance exam in the first attempt if the basic and primary concepts of the class 12 curriculum are clear and they have a high level of determination. Aspirants who follow a comprehensive timetable without failure can easily pass the entrance test with a good score. Aspirants should not lose their confidence and willpower; otherwise, they will not be able to crack the exam. Giving mock exams will boost their confidence and provide them scope for self-evaluation.
