10 Smart Techniques to Study Biology for NEET

    1. Good Study Material – Get the Right Books!

The most crucial component to prepare for any exam is the right study material. Candidates can discuss with NEET teachers and toppers or browse their interviews to get an idea of the books they referred to for NEET preparation. Going through NEET toppers’ interviews, aspirants can understand their NEET preparation ploy.

Here is a list of a few Biology books that students can benefit from

    • Objective NCERT at your fingertips for NEET
    • Trueman’s Elementary Biology Volume- 1 and Volume 2
    • AC Dutta For Botany
    • Books by T.L Rayar
    • 11th and 12th NCERT textbooks
    1. Form a Study Timetable – But, Do Not Enforce!

A plan can help you outline and follow a study routine diligently. A well-set schedule can let the candidates function in their more vulnerable sections and allocate time for NEET mock tests and evaluations. It will also produce a sense of gravity and discipline in a student’s NEET preparation. Students can pursue some easy actions to schedule a NEET timetable.

    • Set a calendar and diary
    • Put your priorities
    • Set out comfortable study hours
    • Take care of your health
    • Get enough sleep
    • Do not overeat/oversleep
    1. Exercise NEET Sample Papers and Previous Years’ Question Papers

One of the most incredible challenges for any entrance exam is the time constraint. Exercise is the key, not only for NEET but any competitive exam. Students need to complete 180 questions within a time duration of 3 hours. This indicates that they have to dedicate only 1 minute to each question. Thus, time management skills are necessary for the NEET Exam.

Students should practise NEET sample papers and previous years’ question papers to enhance their precision. Practising previous years’ papers will also give them an idea about the question pattern, difficulty level of questions, and chapter-wise weightage in the exam.

    1. Start Preparing Notes

The most suitable way to enhance your memory skills is to organise notes while studying. Candidates must jot down all the important notes in a copy or a diary. It can be good for revision before the examination and save a lot of time. Candidates should note down the points clearly to help them evade confusion during the correction.

    1. Try to Concentrate on Your Weaker Sections

A student can be very firm in one topic and relatively flimsier in another, but they should not get demotivated with this. They should function harder in the areas they are weaker and support them. They can take advice from teachers and friends if they find it challenging to understand any concept. Students can solve NEET sample papers and previous year’s question papers to interpret their weaker areas and devote more time to those sections. This practice will also help in overcoming the examination fear and boost confidence.

Candidates can use metaphors to retain certain critical information. Metaphors help secure information to certain brain areas and are efficacious in memorising information because they attach new information to already existing knowledge. Mnemonics can help remember basic units such as the periodic table in Chemistry.

    1. Give Yourself Breaks

Students should detour marathon study sessions, especially for complicated topics. While doing a difficult crossword, they may acknowledge that if they take a recess and come back to the enigma, they will strike a resolution faster. Although scholars aren’t deliberately solving it, their brain is still working in the background subconsciously. It does most of the hard work for them. Candidates should devise and take timed recesses between study sessions while preparing for the exam.

    1. Take Care of Health

A sound sleep is the best medicine to relieve stress. A night of healthy sleep can rejuvenate students and expand their concentration power. They should make sure they take sufficient breaks and possess a regular sleep cycle. Since a candidate’s brain does most of the hard work here, they should give it adequate time to mend. Adequate rest (at least 6 hours of sleep) can also help you stay positive and remain motivated.

These are some NEET preparation tips that candidates can follow to score good marks in the exam. Apart from all these preparation tips and procedures, candidates can still commit some little mistakes while preparing and that can impact their results.

    1. Errors to Dodge During Your Neet Preparation

Here are a few more tips that will help you enhance your preparation skills. So, eliminate the following errors to robust your preparedness for the upcoming NEET exam:

    • Going out of the timetable: Bright minds should rigidly obey the program they have organised for the exam.
    • Frenzied schedule: Aspirants should not track a hectic schedule or study for a long period, impacting their retention.
    • Not following the NCERT textbooks: Almost 70% of the questions come from NCERT textbooks, so candidates should not overlook NCERT books.
    • Following too many books:  Aspirants should avoid studying from many books as they can get bewildered and mess up their NEET preparation.
    • Ignoring subjects: Students should not leave a single page unturned in any subject when preparing for competitive entrance exams like NEET-UG.

Candidates should heed these NEET preparation tips to ensure a good rank in NEET Exam. They should bypass all the mistakes mentioned here while preparing for NEET.

Thus, this is all about the tips and ways to crack NEET 2022 and prepare yourself for the Biology section. Focus more on your studies and crack your goals. You need to learn basic skills like time management and problem-solving to crack NEET. The most effective and tested tip is to make notes of the important facts so that you can revise them once you are done with the syllabus.
