Lack of concentration leads to poor performance, and one simply cannot afford poor performance when aiming to crack the NEET examination. NEET is one of the most competitive exams in India and admission in any of top medical colleges will certainly kick start your career. NEET calls for unparalleled preparation and sheer dedication if one wishes to make it big in the medical field. However, not all students ace at concentrating, some have a hard time focusing while the faculty is explaining concepts or clearing the doubts. So, is there a way in which students can improve concentration in the classroom? Certainly! There are many ways in which students can polish the art of focusing and soak in everything taught in the classroom.

Here we have congregated a few tips that effectively improve concentration and performance in classroom. Of all the NEET preparation tips, these are most efficient when it comes to becoming a guiding force.

    Take Adequate Rest

Taking adequate rest is the best way to improve concentration and add discipline to the schedule. You may not be thrilled about this idea, but trust us, it is important to give your body adequate rest if you wish to improve the brain’s functioning and concentration power. Lack of sleep is one of the biggest factors that hinders concentration and makes you feel sleepy in the classroom. A good night’s sleep helps in paying attention the next day in the class.

    Overcome Distractions

If you have a habit of playing with your phone or anything else, refrain from taking it with you to the coaching class. Furthermore, if you happen to sit next to someone who keeps tapping on the table or has any other habit that may distract you, consider sitting somewhere else. Overcoming distractions is easy provided you have the intention to do it. Remember, what is taught in the classroom is important and skipping on anything because of lost focus can leave you in a pool of doubts.

    Play Memory Games

No, we are not asking you to play memory games while the faculty is teaching. You can play them in your free time to improve concentration. Games like Jenga and Battleship are the perfect examples of games that help practice the art of concentration. Playing games requires a great deal of attention, and as the game moves forward, it calls for being alert and attentive. This attentiveness can significantly help in staying focused even in the classroom throughout the day. So, the next time you are on a break, play some memory games for both entertainment and to increase focus and concentration.

    Stop Multitasking

If like most students, you also think that multitasking will save your time that can be utilized somewhere else, you are wrong. Multitasking can divert your focus from what is being taught and put it somewhere less important. For instance, if you take notes while the faculty is teaching, be sure of creating your own shortcuts to match the pace. Once you are home, neatly jot down the notes in a separate notebook. If you focus on neatly taking down the notes while in the class, there are high chances that you may fall behind.

    Keep Yourself Organized

Before you step out of the house for the classes, be sure of cross-checking everything that you need. From books to the pen, everything that you would need during the class should be in your bag. This organized approach will help you in concentrating better and soaking more without being distracted.

Keep these NEET preparation tips in mind to give your preparation a solid backing before the D-day comes. With improved concentration, you will certainly be able to ace the NEET 2019 examination and give your medical dream a push. All the best!
