Some tips to know how to score excellent marks in the board exams

    1. Make a good study plan

Do not try to focus on long hours of studies. Prepare a timetable that includes your daily routines. Add a little break at every 45-50 minutes of study. The timetable helps you to focus on all subjects equally. You can divide your time on each subject with the help of a timetable. It will also help you to learn time management skills.

    2. Small-scale study

Divide your syllabus into small segments or topic-wise. Then prepare them according to your timetable. It will help you in a better and deeper understanding of each topic. The small-scale study helps us in understanding segments within a short time. It will reduce your pressure during revision time.

    3. Prepare notes

Notes preparation is one of the most important steps towards achieving more than 90% in board exams. During revision time at the final juncture of examination, only notes are helpful. They let you gain the discreet points of any topic in the end time.

    4. Categorize the important areas

Categorizing the important areas of the syllabus according to the weightage of topics is one of the smart works. Studying these topics first and getting a stronghold on them helps you achieve your goal easily.

    5. Revise your work daily

Revise your daily work on the same day. It helps to strengthen your memory more effectively. If you neglect daily revision, then one day, you will end up forgetting things easily. Revising daily your syllabus not only sharpens your learning ability but also lets you see more such points in a clear way that you haven’t cleared on previously.

    6. Textbooks study

Ensure to study each textbook. Make sure not to leave any concept or topic from NCERT textbooks. The NCERT material contains the base content not only for board exams but for competitive exams too. Do not leave any diagram, example, table, or graph from any NCERT textbook because they are equally important for your Term 2 exams.

    7. Practice mock papers and previous years’ papers

Try to solve sample question papers as often as possible. It will boost your confidence. Solving papers not only help you in commanding topics more strongly but also in increasing your speed and accuracy skills. Studying through sample papers has more advantages one can think of. It can help you to overcome your weak points.

    8. Eat healthy and nutritious food

Eating healthy and nutritious food is good for physical health. But do you believe it affects your mental health too! Yes, nutrient-rich food is good for the growth of your body and mind. A healthy mind is what you need the most during board exam time.

    9. Proper sleep is a must

It is highly advisable to keep yourself energetic during examination time. Your body also feels tired after studying for so long. Therefore, it is necessary to take 6-7 hours of sound sleep. It will help you gain the effective functioning of your body and mind at this crucial juncture.

    10. Stop late-night studies

Do not study till late in the night during exam time. It will affect your body and mind functions. Late-night studies will reduce your sleeping hours and memory functions. You will also feel restless during day time. It’s better to sleep early and wake up early for morning hour studies.

    11. Ensure to be physically and mentally fit

Eat healthy food, take sound sleep, listen to music, start a morning walk or light exercises, be in a positive environment, and meditate to reduce stress. These are very important to ensure your mental and physical fitness during exam time.

    12. Group studies

Group studies are also a very good choice that can help you achieve excellent results. It helps in clearing your doubts and a clear understanding of concepts. It is easier to discuss topics with your friends than with others. They can help you solve your problems and guide you with better study ideas. The areas where you find problems are easier to share with your friends. They can help you share their notes that help you understand the concepts in a better way.

    13. Stop studying one night before the exam

The last few hours before an exam is the most crucial time for any student. Do not study in those hours. Keep your books, notes, and other study materials aside in those hours and let your brain relax and calm. Take a good night of sleep, which will help you attempt your exam in a better way.

Some tips for writing the examination

    1. Write in clear handwriting

Write on your exam sheets in clear and readable writing. Do not overwrite things in your exam sheets. Untidy writing that is unclear to read and understand creates difficulty in front of examiners. It results in losing marks. Also, do not use colorful pens for writing exam sheets. Writing in clear handwriting and only with black and blue pens can express your answers more effectively.

    2. Make use of the extra 15 minutes provided

Board provides students an extra 15 minutes only for reading the question paper. Make use of this time wisely. Mark the questions which you understand perfectly. Attempt them first. It will save your time for tricky questions. Then pin out the questions that you think are tricky. And work on them. In this way, you will find a boost in your confidence level.

    3. Choose the right question to answer

Write those answers first that you find perfect while reading the paper. It will save you a lot of time. If you choose to write section-wise or any other way, then solving tricky problems will waste your time, and in this way, you will lose your confidence level too. That results in the incomplete attempt of questions, and the outcome will be not acceptable to you.

    4. Do not elaborate answers too much

Do not write irrelevant answers. Write to the point and precise answers to the questions. Do not try to write whatever you know. Writing irrelevantly just filling your sheets will not help you in gaining scores. It also increases the chances of adding more mistakes to your answers. And, it will waste your time too.

    5. Re-check your sheet

Before handing over your sheet to the examiner, after writing it, please re-check it once more. Verify every entry in your sheet. Check if you left any questions to answer them or not. And also, check the resultant solutions which contain calculations.

    6. Do not re-evaluate yourself from textbooks

After giving an examination, do not re-evaluate yourself from your textbooks. It will only demoralize you and reduce your confidence. Shake off the given exam to the back of your mind and focus on the next exam for better results and confidence.

Getting more than 90% marks is a challenge, but these tips can help you achieve this goal with a lot of ease. Proper planning and strategies are always the best solutions during examinations.
