Science, Commerce, or the Arts? It is one of the most common confusions faced by many students right after the class10th results are out. Even though it is true that after the Class 10th Board exams, students’ career journey starts, which is why students need to study hard for their 10th board examinations, and based on the class 10 results they are allowed to choose their favourite stream. That is why it is imperative to make the right decision while selecting the streams, as the student’s future will be affected by this particular decision. Usually, students choose the course of their parents’ choice, or they go with the course taken by most of their friends because many students are confused and clueless while choosing their career after class 10th. Choosing the right path is very crucial. In today’s time, every field has many opportunities, but one should always choose according to their interests.

Are you still confused? Scroll down to read and choose the right course of your life.

Here are a few questions that you need to answer before taking the plunge

    • What are the career opportunities in the subjects that you decide on?
    • Should you consider professional courses or stick to the traditional options?
    • What are the curricula followed by various boards?

Selecting The Right Stream After Class 10

The most important decision after class 10 is opting for the right stream. Selecting the right stream is important as your future depends on it.

Different Streams That Are Available After Class 10

    1. Science

The subjects studied in this field are Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer, and English, depending on the board and medium you opt for.

If you choose Medicine over Engineering, then the subject offered other than the above-mentioned is Biology. Under the science stream, you have choices in two courses that are:

    1. Engineering Sciences
    2. Medical Sciences

In the Engineering field, you need to understand the concepts, while in Medicine, you need to memorize them. Engineering requires analytical thinking and grasping power, while Medicine requires learning skills. For taking up Engineering, you should take up PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Maths), and for Medicine, you should take up PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology).

Science is one of the most sought-after courses, and almost every parent wants their child to take up this stream as it has several rewarding career opportunities.

Another great advantage is that it allows students to change streams and take up Arts or commerce later in their lives, whereas arts and commerce students do not have this privilege.
