Greatest inventions that changed the world – Part 2

In our previous post, we talked about 5 important inventions which changed the world. Here, we have more inventions which are more recent. Take 5 minutes from your busy schedule and give this a read!

Camera: We love clicking ourselves and capture every moment of our lives thanks to the camera that’s easily available on our phones. Cameras have many phases of evolution and started with camera obscura – a device which used lens or pinhole to project images upside down on viewing surfaces by ancient Greeks and Chinese. At a point, there was no way of preserving the photographs and they could only be traced by hands. The evolution of the camera has allowed the images to be preserved immediately.

Automobile: The automobile has made it possible to mobilize people. The idea of a personal vehicle had been around for a while, however, Karl Benz’s 1885 Motorwagen, powered by an internal combustion engine of his own design is considered as the first automobile. Automobiles have had a great impact on commerce, society and culture. They have allowed us to go from one place to another in the easiest way possible.

Airplane: Isn’t it amazing that we can fly to any part of the world in just a few hours? The world has been brought much closer thanks to one of the greatest inventions – The Airplane. The Wright Brothers gave us the idea of flight and were the first ones to ever make a working model of an airplane. Thus began an era of quick mode of transportation and travelling.

Computer: Charles Babbage originated the concept of a programmable computer. He conceptualized and invented the first mechanical computer in the early 19th century. Our lives today are hugely dependent on computers and they make our lives easier every single day! They allow us to perform long calculations, store information & more. Most of the things we depend on could not have been possible without this brilliant invention!

Internet: The internet came into existence for US Military & its sole purpose was sending and receiving mails and other data within the system. But thanks to the technology and the genius minds who keep developing these ideas, all of us today can access the internet whenever we want! The World Wide Web only came to existence 30 years ago and today it affects every single person’s life.
