The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is gearing up for the practical examinations for classes 10 and 12 during the 2023-24 session, with confirmed exam dates starting in the first week of January 2024.
To ensure the smooth conduct of these practical exams, CBSE has issued a comprehensive set of guidelines that school principals and teachers are expected to diligently follow:
Timely Dispatch of Answer Booklets:
Schools are required to ensure the prompt receipt of an ample quantity of practical answer booklets well in advance of the scheduled practical examination date.
Communication with Stakeholders:
Schools must effectively communicate the practical examination schedule, format, and any specific prerequisites to both parents and students.
Facilities and Resources Management:
Proper provisions, including infrastructure, equipment, and materials in laboratories, should be organized to facilitate the seamless execution of practical exams.
Collaboration with Examiners:
Schools are encouraged to establish communication with examiners in advance, ensuring a coordinated effort for the efficient and punctual execution of the examination process as per the scheduled date and time.
Support for Special Requirements:
Provision for special needs or disabled students should be arranged to guarantee their ease and full participation in practical exams.
Adherence to Timetable:
Students must strictly adhere to the provided schedule for practical examinations.
Daily Submission of Scores:
All scores for practical exams, projects, and internal assessments should be submitted daily, precisely on the assessment day.
Accuracy in Score Submissions:
When submitting scores, both internal and external examiners must ensure their accuracy, as modifications won’t be permissible post-submission.
External Examiner Mandate:
For Class 12, only a Board-appointed external examiner is authorized to conduct practical exams; no local alternatives are permissible.
Immutable Scores:
No alterations to scores are permissible once the process is finalized and completed. Attention to detail is crucial for precise score submissions.
Compliance Oversight:
CBSE retains the right to annul practical examinations if schools fail to comply with the Board’s directives.
No Extension of Deadlines:
The Board will not entertain requests for deadline extensions.
Queries Resolution:
Schools may seek clarifications from the relevant regional office well in advance if necessary.
By adhering to these guidelines, schools can contribute to the successful and organized execution of the CBSE practical examinations for the 2023-24 session.
