We have appreciated the best students in our class, school, college, university, and many exams. We’ve always been fascinated by toppers’ daily routines. If given a chance, we may find ourselves questioning great performers and the key to their success. Thousands of students take the test, but only a small percentage of them pass. What is the secret to their success story? Their actions are crucial to their success. Top performers have developed routines that allow them to surpass hundreds of thousands of test-takers. The toppers’ daily habits set them apart from the rest of the league.

Every year, we all know that there are top scorers who surprise us with their results. We occasionally consider what they do to stand out amid the millions of pupils competing. Indeed, these toppers’ behaviors are the distinguishing characteristics that most of us lack. They are not born with remarkable potential to succeed in tests; rather, they develop successful habits.

While we agree that studying all day and until the wee hours of the night won’t get you anywhere, brilliant study combined with a disciplined approach may. Toppers’ habits work wonders, and if we can instill or at least strive to establish them in our lives, a lot may change. Let’s look at some of the ‘Toppers Habits’ that can help you succeed in competitive exams like JEE Main 2022, JEE Advanced 2022, CUCET NTA 2022, NEET 2022, NTSE Exam, KVPY Exam, and the SOF Olympiad.

Habits of Toppers to Develop for Better Results

Being a topper entails success, and every achievement has its own set of techniques and secrets. We’re about to expose “The Secrets” that only Toppers know about. We all know someone who usually wins or comes out on top, but we have no idea how they do it. It’s challenging to learn all of the Toppers’ secrets because no one wants to divulge their secret to success. It is not required to be familiar with all of them; nonetheless. It is necessary to be familiar with those that can lead to success and straightforward competitive exams like JEE Main 2022, JEE Advanced 2022, CUCET NTA 2022, NEET 2022, NTSE Exam, KVPY Exam and the SOF Olympiad.

    Study time is limited

If you fail to plan, you intend to fail, as the saying goes. To succeed in the exam, you must first create a solid study plan and follow it faithfully. It makes no difference if you study for 14 or 4 hours a day. Consistency is the key to success because it increases your learning potential and helps you prepare for the exam. Many students fail to follow through on their study plans because they prioritise study time, leaving little time for relaxation and amusement.

Fill the first half of your schedule with pleasurable things, then the rest with the study. Another way to keep to your study schedule is to set aside a separate study area where you can do nothing but study. This will help your mind recognise the location as soon as you walk into the room, putting you in a studied attitude.

After the day, you must self-motivate yourself by rewarding yourself. At first, sticking to a routine could be difficult. In this instance, it’s best to rely on the strength of habit to assist you in overcoming it. If you repeat any behaviour for 21 days, it becomes your habit, according to the power of habit. And once you’ve made any activity a habit, you’ll instantly start using the subconscious mind’s ability to attain your objectives.

    Sticking to a study plan

According to a survey, 25% of students never received study skills instruction. And 34.2 percent of recent grads say their biggest regret leaving university is not studying correctly and successfully. Only 30% of pupils receive education on time management. That said, it’s reasonable to claim that study skills are crucial and necessary for effectively completing your degree. And making a study plan can help you stay on track.

What exactly is a study strategy? A study plan is an ordered timetable that outlines study times and objectives for a student. Study plans are similar to work or school schedules. They include calendars and hours that can be set aside for specific activities. It will help you become more organised and keep you on track for meeting your goals. A study plan is even more important for time management if you study online because your success is reliant on your discipline and dedication.

Remember that there is no such thing as a universal study strategy. It would help if you devised a comfortable system while also considering your objectives. Each student has their learning style, so design a plan that works for you and is realistic. Blocking aside six hours of study time without taking a break, for example, is unrealistic and may lead to failure. So be practical.

Seek to comprehend rather than memorise

There is a significant distinction between memorisation and learning. The majority of students are unaware of this. Learning entails altering the brain’s stored inputs in response to new information or experience. Memorisation is simply the process of storing data. However, it has no bearing on learning because you have no control over what information is retained.

In India, the education system believes memorisation to be an essential tool for learning. However, the situation has altered recently. Teachers are abandoning the classic chalk-and-board approach in favour of innovative learning processes. The new strategy aids students in comprehensively grasping concepts and theories. The inclusion of more activities in schools aids pupils in obtaining skills that make studying more efficient and pleasurable.

In a student’s life, the educator is critical. Rather than being the sole content supplier, a teacher serves as a coach or facilitator. According to research, pupils struggle to retain all of the material delivered in a lecture. A teacher should lead a class so that all pupils are equally involved.

Learning and memorising go hand in hand. As a result, always remember to remember rather than memorise. If a student struggles to understand, their ability to retain information is severely limited. Participating in activities provides the brain with a mental gymnastic workout, which helps kids improve their focus skills. It is essential to have a strong memory. Those who recall remember their ability to understand, not their ability to remember! The best doctors and lawyers retain material not because they memorise it but because they can understand it. This helps best in exams like NEET-UG 2022 and the JEE Main 2022 and JEE Advanced 2022.

Switch between diverse and focused thought

Convergent and divergent thinking is similar to the Myers-Briggs personality test. You can learn to think in both analytical and creative ways, regardless of whether you are inherently analytical or creative. We’ll go over the differences between convergent and divergent thinking in the problem-solving process in this article. We’ll also talk about improving your decision-making skills by using both thinking styles.

Convergent thinking is about arriving at a single, well-defined solution to a problem. This way of thinking is excellent for activities requiring logic rather than creativity, such as multiple-choice questions or addressing an issue, for there are no alternative options.

On the other hand, divergent thinking is more creative than convergent thinking. You can create ideas and build several solutions to a problem using this method of thinking. While divergent thinking frequently entails brainstorming various alternative responses to a subject, the goal is the same as convergent thought: finding the optimal option.

Putting in more practise time than reading time

The most well-kept secret among toppers is spending up to 70% of their time practising. The more they practise, the higher their exam scores will be. If you want to increase your exam memory, practise recalling the information numerous times in different circumstances before the exam. As a result, top students complete more practice examinations and previous year’s question papers than the typical student. This is also an active learning strategy because it allows the brain to recall 80 per cent of what it has learned.

    To prepare, use learning tools

It is nearly impossible for students to read the text for revision multiple times. To make their revision more effective, toppers employ tried and true methods and procedures. To boost their memory retention and recall capacity, most top performers use learning tools such as Mnemonics, Flashcards, Visual Aids, etc.

    Keep your notes to yourself

Most average students fall into the habit of reading from other people’s notes or books rather than making an effort to write a personal handwritten message. This is the polar opposite of the toppers’ behaviour. Toppers frequently take their notes and rewrite the material based on those notes. This also suggests that they take notes throughout the year and regularly revise to quickly get everything into their heads.

    FAQs about Topper Study Plan

How do top students prepare for exams?

Always keep in mind the numerous themes to be studied in various areas. And make a mental note of whether you completed your daily goals at the end of each day's study. Then, determine the cause of any departure and take corrective action for any distraction or diversion.

Are toppers required to take notes?

Top students collect and prepare notes well before the exam to ensure they do not forget any vital information. To succeed in your tests, make sure you examine your messages frequently.

What is the ideal study position?

When studying, whether sitting or standing, take deep breaths. Shoulders should be relaxed when sitting at a desk, and elbows should be near the sides. Learning material or the computer screen should be at eye level to avoid straining your neck while reading from a book or computer.

When is the most effective time to study?

Most students like to study early in the morning, usually between 4 and 5 a.m. when the brain is more likely to concentrate. It can be the ideal choice for kids who have more incredible stamina in the morning.

    What is a study schedule?

A study timetable is an organised schedule that allows you to combine your study periods, classes, events, and other significant events into one convenient location. Study timetables are helpful since they will enable you to visualise what you have planned for the day or week ahead.

Is it acceptable to study in bed?

Furthermore, studying in bed restricts regular blood flow to the brain, which brings fresh blood and oxygen to the brain, [promoting] optimal brain performance, according to Robben's essay. Sitting in bed to complete schoolwork is terrible for your health, especially posture.

    Conclusion

Apart from the methods above, toppers don’t usually take tension and ensure that they stay stress-free by following a healthy diet and sleeping schedule. We hope that the secrets listed above motivate you to do the extra work necessary to achieve your objectives, study effectively, and perform well on tests.

According to research, people recall hilarious things much more vividly and for extended periods due to heightened awareness and fewer negative emotions. Making a joke out of a notion or sliding it into a lighthearted conversation with your friends or siblings can give you an advantage over your peers. This approach will help you remember any topic. However, it will also relieve stress, boost your energy, and make the subject more intriguing.
