Those who have travelled the sea are aware that they cannot always expect a smooth sailing. There would be storms, gigantic waves and many other obstacles to hinder their path. Similarly, we cannot expect students to sail through the exam without encountering difficulties, challenges and obstacles. Though exams seem like an eternal battle that appears difficult to some, you can still conquer them with right strategies and a determined mind.

In this ever changing and atrociously dynamic world of education, stiff competition along with pressure to outperform others leave students grappling. To win this battle would mean obtaining the target score which is possible only by putting your best performance forward. And in order to do so, it is imperative for students to deploy their own weapons to defeat exams. More often than not, in order to beat the exams, it is essential to begin the preparation much in advance. The moment you step into your first class, it feels as if you are being constantly tested to the end of your willpower. It is thus vital to develop your competencies from the start and train for the impending exam up ahead.

What good is a soldier if he’s not trained and what good is a student who is not prepared. It is here important to understand that if you are prepared half the battle is already won. There are no shortcuts to success but to win the battle of exams, you need to strike the right chord at the right stage. Right preparation along with right attitude leads to the right result. Getting good grades is indeed a challenging task and with ATQ 2017 around the corner, you must all be geared up to face it. ATQ (Aakash Talent Quest) conducted by Aakash Institute aims to give a chance to deserving students and also to those who missed ANTHE to prove their potential. A brilliant score in ATQ not only ensures a chance to win up to 100% scholarships and cash awards but also gives you an opportunity to enrol with Aakash that helps you prepare for the coveted exams up ahead.

So what should students do in order to emerge victorious in this battle on the OMR sheet?

    Budget your time

Have a clear idea of how you can utilise your time wisely. Plan in advance how much time you want to allocate to each question and abide by it. Do not spend more time than planned on a particular question. If you tend to get stuck over a question, move on to next else you might run out of time for other questions.

    Read the questions

One of the common blunders that students often commit is answering without understanding the question. A careful and meticulous reading of the question is important to be able to answer right. If any question is not understood do not be afraid to approach the invigilator and seek help.

    Focus

Only a focussed mind can help win any battle. In order to win the battle on OMR sheet, it is imperative to focus on the exam and stay clear of distractions. You should not pay heed to what others are doing and mind your own business. A focused approach can definitely stand you in a good stead.

    Don’t freeze

It is often noticed that students tend to stress out by just looking at the question paper. They are unable to recall anything of what they have learned, thereby adding to the stress. If you tend to experience the freeze, do not panic. Try to breathe in and out and stay calm. Drink a glass of water and close your eyes for a few minutes to reduce the effect.

    Review

You might have answered all the questions correctly and would be feeling on top of the world, but what good it will do if you have marked the answers wrong. Students in a rush to complete the exam paper on time darken the wrong bubbles or at times darken them partially. As a result, they have to bear the brunt of losing the battle. Therefore, it is advisable to review your answers carefully before handing over the paper and OMR sheet to the invigilator.
