Many of us dreamed of becoming doctors throughout our school years. Playing doctor with plastic scissors, needles, and toy stethoscopes brings back childhood memories for many of us. As we mature, we should select a professional path that aligns with our passions and abilities. NEET is essential for those who want to pursue a career in medicine. While many of them choose careers in the medical, others pursue careers in non-medical fields after completing their MBBS.

A widespread misperception is that students’ post-MBBS possibilities are confined. That, however, is not the case. Students with medical expertise have a variety of additional career possibilities after the NEET Exam. This debunks the most widespread myth that one can only become a doctor after completing MBBS.

    1. Dentist (BDS)

Apart from an MBBS, NEET also offers a BDS program for individuals interested in becoming dentists. Opportunities are not restricted to public clinics even here. Numerous dentists make a substantial amount of money by opening their own clinics.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Provide general dental care
    • Repair and remove chipped teeth
    • Protect teeth by using whitening treatments

    2. MD/MS/Diploma

It is one of the most often selected routes after MBBS for those seeking to continue their medical professions. In addition, an MD, MS, or diploma enables physicians to continue postgraduate studies and specialize in their chosen area.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Educate and treat patients by providing the best care possible
    • Perform diagnostic tests, refer patients to specialists, document patients’ medical histories, and educate patients

    3. MBA

An MBA is not the most apparent path for someone wishing to pursue a career as a doctor. Although pursuing an MBA after completing an MBBS degree is somewhat unusual, some individuals build entrepreneurial abilities and explore job possibilities in healthcare administration.

    A few examples are

    1. MBA in Healthcare and Hospital Management
    2. MBA in Hospital Administration
    3. MBA General Management (GM)
    4. PGD in Hospital and Health Management (PGDHHM)
    5. PGD in Health Administration
    6. PGD in Hospital Administration

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Track day-to-day activities
    • Manage and oversee daily operations

    4. Legal Medical Consultant

Considered a profitable professional path after MBBS, a legal medical adviser is required when complex court matters need an expert medical opinion on specific issues. In addition, numerous crimes in the contemporary world need the opinion of a medical professional. As a result, this is a genuinely feasible career choice after MBBS. However, one must be cognizant of the amount of time that this job may need. Court proceedings that go on for an extended period of time make this job very stressful at times.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Conducting legal analysis and providing advice on legal matters
    • Reviewing legal material
    • Monitoring the implementation of legal clauses

    5. Medical educator

Doctor and teacher are two of the most respected professions in human history. Thus, being a medical educator combines two highly regarded professions. You may either teach medicine at a nursing school or as a professor of medicine at a large university. Additionally, this job path allows you to lead the world’s future physicians.

After completing their MBBS, physicians now have a slew of choices at their disposal, allowing them to pursue any career path they want. However, MBBS completion is not the end.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Develop and promote health programs
    • Teaching students and contributing to their learning development
