1. What is the mode of the exam?
NEET is a paper-based exam that is only conducted in the offline mode.
2. What is the number of questions in NEET exam?
There is a total of 180 multiple choice questions, with 45 questions each for Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
3. Is there any negative marking?
Yes, there is negative marking in NEET entrance exam. 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer or if a student marks two answers for one question.
4. What languages will the question paper support?
The question paper of NEET-UG will be available in Hindi,English, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Oriya, Tamil, Urdu and Kannada.
5. Is there a minimum qualification for appearing in NEET 2019?
Unreserved Category: Students must have passed the Senior School Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination, equivalent to 10+2 examination after a period of 12 years of study, with last two years comprising of Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology and English.
Reserved Category: For students of reserved category, all the subjects mentioned above are compulsory; however, minimum qualifying marks are 40% instead of 50%.
Physically Handicapped: The minimum marks are 45% for general candidates, whereas 40% for reserved category students. This is as per the Benchmark Disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016.
6. There are 15% All India Quota Seats, who all can appear for NEET-UG through this?
Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Indian Nationals, Overseas Citizens of India, and Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply in NEET-UG through the 15% All India Quota Seats.
7. Is there a cap to the number of attempts a student can make?
There is no limit for the amount of attempts in NEET-UG; however, there is an age limit.
8. What is the age limit for appearing in NEET-UG?
A student appearing for NEET-UG must have completed 17 years of age or must complete it before 31st December of the year of their admission to the 1st year of the course. The upper age limit is 25 years for students of general category andis relaxed by 5 years for candidates belonging to ST/SC/OBC category.
9. Is Aadhar Card mandatory for appearing in NEET-UG?
All students appearing for NEET-UG must have an Aadhar Card. However, candidates who are residents of Meghalaya, Assam, and Jammu and Kashmir are exempt from this rule.
