NEET UG Round 1 Counselling 2022: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a notification that the resignation Module for Round 1 of NEET UG Counselling 2022 has been activated and is available up to 05:00 PM on 01 November 2022.
Candidates who have been allotted seats in the first round of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) UG counselling 2022 can resign from their allotted seats by visiting the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee – mcc.nic.in.

As per Medical Counselling Committee, after the resignation deadline, candidates will be considered as part of NEET UG 2022 Counselling Round 2. The official notice released by the Medical Counselling Committee reads, “In reference to round-1 of UG counselling 2022, reporting is scheduled to end on 28th October 2022. The candidates can resign from the seat of Round 1 till 05:00 P.M of 1st November 2022 after which they will be considered as part of Round 2 and the same rules will apply to them as applicable for Round- 2 of counselling.”

Resignation Letter Must Be Generated Online
Candidates are advised to ensure that their Resignation Letter is generated online (through the portal provided by MCC) by the allotted college, failing which the resignation will be treated as ‘Null & Void’. In such a case, the candidate will be deemed to occupy the seat still, and the rules of Round 2 will apply. Any letter other than Resignation Letter generated through the online portal will not be considered a ‘Resignation Letter’. In case the candidate is resigning by sending an email to the college, s/he should make sure that they receive a Resignation Letter generated through the online portal of MCC.

NEET UG Counselling Round 2 Rules
In case the candidate gives consent for upgradation in Round 2, and participates in Round2 counselling but is not upgraded, s/he cannot resign the seat allotted in Round 2 and will have to retain the seat. In such a case rules of Round 2 will apply since the candidate has exercised choices and participated in Round 2. There is no option of resignation if the candidate is not upgraded in Round 2. Round-1 joined candidates who neither participate in Round-2 nor resign from the seat of Round-1 will be considered part of Round-2 after the stipulated time. Hence, candidates who desire to resign their seat in Round 1 should do so by 05:00 P.M on 1st November 2022 before Round 2 commences.
