    NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is one of the most significant medical entrance exams in India. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), NEET serves as a gateway for aspiring medical and dental students to secure admission to top medical colleges in India. NEET 2023 is to be conducted on 07th May 2023, and as a medical aspirant, it is crucial to know certain essential things about the exam.

    Here are 5 Important Things to Know About the NEET 2023 Exam:

    Eligibility Criteria

    NEET 2023 has specific eligibility criteria that students need to meet before they can appear for the exam. Candidates must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2023, and should have passed Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects. Additionally, candidates must also fulfill other eligibility requirements laid down by the authority. 

    Exam Pattern

    NEET 2023 will be a pen-and-paper-based exam consisting of a total of 180 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The questions will be divided into three sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and the exam duration will be 3 hours and 20 minutes. Each correct answer will carry 4 marks, and there will be a negative marking of 1 mark for every wrong answer.

    Syllabus

    The NEET 2023 syllabus will be based on the Class 11th and 12th curriculum of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology of the CBSE Board. Candidates must ensure that they have a thorough understanding of the syllabus before they start preparing for the exam. Aspirants can refer to the official NEET website or the NTA’s official website for a detailed syllabus.

    Application Process

    The application process for NEET 2023 will be online, and candidates must fill the application form within the stipulated time frame. Aspirants must keep all the necessary documents ready, such as scanned copies of their photograph and signature, Class 10th and 12th mark sheets, and ID proof, before they start filling the application form. 

    Preparation Strategy

    NEET 2023 is a highly competitive exam, and candidates must have a well-planned preparation strategy to ace the exam. Aspirants must have a thorough understanding of the exam pattern and syllabus and should focus on building a strong foundation in the core subjects – Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates can refer to standard textbooks and study materials and should attempt mock tests and previous years’ question papers to assess their preparation levels.
