JEE Apex Board: As per the latest notifications, the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exam will now be conducted by JEE Apex Board, not NTA. The ministry of education has reconstituted the JEE Apex Board (JAB) for the conduct of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) for admission to undergraduate (UG) engineering programmes at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). This new examination body will be regulated by Professor Bhaskar Ramamurthy, former director of IIT Madras. The National Testing Agency (NTA) director-general Vineet Joshi will be the member secretary. In addition, IIT, NIT directors, and CBSE chairman are among the 17 members of the board.

The JEE Mains Phase I examination will be conducted by the JEE Apex board from June 20 to 29, 2022. At the same time, the session 2 exams will be held from 21 to 30 July 2022. JEE Advanced exam will be conducted on 28th August 2022. The application process for the same will begin on 7th August and will end on 11th August.
JEE Apex Board (JAB) will have the right to decide the rules and guidelines regarding the conduct of JEE Main examination, which will also coordinate with the JEE Advanced Group and its Chairman. This is a step taken to make the system more transparent and better. The tenure of the previous board ended on 31 March 2022. However, NTA will provide administrative support for the JEE (Main) conduct across the country. The JAB of the IIT system shall continue to assume responsibility for the conduct of the JEE (Advanced). The NIC / C-DAC will help in all information technology-related support and back-end activities for pre and post-examination work.

Directors of IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Jaipur, IIT Rourkela, IIT Nagpur, IIT Guwahati, and IIT DM Kurnool will be part of the meeting. Other members of the board include representatives from Haryana, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Bihar, representatives of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chairman of CBSE, Director General of NIC, Director General of C-DAC, Some Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Education and National Examination Agency will also be involved.
