Chemistry is one of the branch subjects of Science, and from time to time, it has proved its value in society. Although it seems funny, it is also one of the subjects that students fear the most. But, if one understands Chemistry Concepts clearly, then it becomes the best score-gaining subject.

May 7, 2022, is the CBSE Class 12 Chemistry board exam date announced by CBSE. There is not much time remaining for students now. It’s time to buck up the preparations and revisions for students. According to CBSE’s instructions, board exams are going to be in a subjective mode.

At this moment of examination time, students need to work on important topics that help them in attaining an excellent score rather than focus on the complete CBSE Class 12 syllabus. And this article will help them a lot.

    Section-wise Some Tips

Here are some section-wise tips for students that can help them with their revision plan:

    Physical Chemistry

    1. Prepare a notebook and collect all laws and formulae in it.
    2. Revise all formulae thoroughly.
    3. Do not forget to write units in the solutions.
    4. Practise as many numericals as possible.

    Inorganic Chemistry

    1. Prepare a notebook and write comparative notes about the oxidation state, electronic configuration, occurrence, characteristics, and other related properties of d- and f- block elements.
    2. Get command of VBT and CFT theories and their applications.
    3. Work on concepts as it is a theoretical section.’
    4. Use NCERT Solutions for Class 12 Chemistry for concepts preparations.

    Organic Chemistry

    1. Prepare a notebook for all named reactions and their mechanisms.
    2. Memorise IUPAC nomenclature and reaction mechanisms thoroughly.
    3. Work on the physical and chemical properties of different compounds.
    4. Revise all conversions and reactions from the NCERT textbook.

The above-given section-wise and chapter-wise division will help students in selecting the important topics to work on. Remember to write units after the solution of numerical problems and do not neglect NCERT textbooks and NCERT Solutions to study for board preparations. This article can smartly guide students with revision. But, how to study it depends on the student’s own choice. We can only advise you that the time is running at a fast speed. Do not waste it as you don’t have much time before your examinations. Revise your topics thoroughly with concentration. Take short breaks between your studies for mental rest. Although the subject is tough, practice and revision can solve any problem. We wish you all the best for your exams!

    FAQs

    1. How to answer the case-study questions in the Chemistry exam?

You can follow the below steps to answer case-study questions in the Chemistry exam:

    1. Read the question carefully.
    2. Follow the step by step and draw a rough chart of the pattern asked.
    3. Highlight the important point that provided you hint towards missing elements.
    4. Make the equations as said in the question.
    5. Remind the properties that follow the pattern of different compounds.
    6. Lastly, put the solved answers in your drawn chart and re-check it.

    2. How can I command Assertion and Reason type questions for Class 12 board exams?

    1. Previous years’ papers and mock papers are the best way to revise topics for the board exams. Still, you can follow the below steps for practising Assertion and Reason type questions for board exams:
    2. Read the question carefully and take the needed time.
    3. Think about each statement separately and with a clear understanding.
    4. Use your conceptual knowledge to think about statements.
    5. Practice Assertion and Reason pattern questions from sample papers thoroughly.
    6. Revise all Important Concepts.

    3. What tricks should I use to memorise all physical and chemical properties in Organic Chemistry for the board exam?

    1. Although practice and regular revision are the keys to achieving success in any examination, tricks play a smart role in memorising the topics. You can use the following tricks to remember all physical and chemical properties in the Organic Chemistry xam:
    2. Note down all physical and chemical properties according to the topics in a notebook.
    3. Make a comparison between them.
    4. Draw out different charts of similar properties and different properties.
    5. Also, mention exceptional properties in the chart.
    6. For chemical properties, make a comparison by using chemical reactions.
    7. Revise them regularly.

    4. How to learn named reactions in Organic Chemistry?

Most of the students feared Organic Chemistry because of its reactions. But, if you notice them clearly, then you will easily find a pattern in various reactions. For learning, understanding, and commanding Organic Chemistry it is necessary to work on named reactions. And for learning any named reaction, it is better to understand its reaction mechanism. The reaction mechanism helps you to understand the key to forming products. And this will ultimately help you with similar reactions and conversions.

    5. How to get a command over numerical problems of Chemical Kinetics and Electrochemistry?

The one way to get command over numerical problems of any subject is ‘by practice’. Practice regularly and thoroughly. Chemical Kinetics and Electrochemistry are the most scored topics. You need to write all the formulae of both chapters in a notebook and then learn them. After that apply them accordingly in numerical questions. The best way to learn Chemical Kinetics formulae is to understand their derivations. Sometimes, you can easily be able to see their derivations in the form of questions also.

    6. What tips should I use to revise Chemistry in a short duration for the Class 12 board exam?

Do not take any shortcuts with your studies. Shortcuts in studies lead you towards poor outcomes. So, it is better to prepare topics thoroughly. But, during examination time, students suffer so much stress and pressure that they unwantedly start to search for tricks. You can use the following tips for Chemistry preparations for your Class 12 board exams:

    1. Prepare notes and add important topics to them.
    2. Revise them properly and daily.
    3. Use mnemonics for inorganics chemistry and mechanism charts for organic chemistry preparations.
    4. Practice daily numerical and formulae.
    5. Solve sample papers as many as possible.
