Karnataka Examinations Authority, KEA released the result for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test, KCET 2021 on September 20. It is a proud moment for Aakash because Meghan, a 2 Year classroom student from the Kuvempunagar branch, Mysore has created a record by bagging the top rank across all five streams — Engineering, Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS), Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Pharmacy.
KCET is a state-level common entrance test, conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The entrance test is conducted to offer admission to students in various UG courses in the colleges of Karnataka. Candidates who clear the KCET can take admissions in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Farm Science courses, etc.
Higher Education Minister of Karnataka C.N. Ashwath Narayan mentioned in his speech that there are no prescribed cut-off marks this year for admission of candidates to engineering courses and students would be selected on a first-come-first-served basis.
Now the next step of admissions is document verification. It will begin on September 30 at district headquarters. Candidates are required to be ready with their original documents. Once it’s done, counseling will follow.
