Procrastination is like a credit card. It’s a lot of fun until you get the bill.

If you are aiming for IIT JEE preparation in 1 year, the one thing that you need to definitely keep away from is procrastination. It is a feeling that can capture a small corner in your brain and keep poking to delay important tasks like studying. When preparing for tough competitive exams like JEE, it is better to keep away from procrastination for a desired result. However, there often are times when procrastination sets in and starts hindering the study schedule. While it is acceptable for a brief time, you must work towards conquering this feeling if it persists for a longer duration.

So, if you are preparing for JEE 2019, we at Aakash Institute present you these five priceless tips. These tips will help you fight procrastination and accomplish IIT JEE preparation in 1 year.

#1 Break the Syllabus into Parts

One of the biggest reasons why students procrastinate is because they are overwhelmed with the vast syllabus of JEE. The trick here is to break down the syllabus into several small parts, so it starts looking easily achievable. In the next step, assign each task to a day and start working towards achieving them. With each passing day, you will start gaining momentum and get a psychological boost.

#2 Remove Distractions from Your Study Room

Everyone wants to have all conveniences around when studying. However, these conveniences can at times be distractive and favorable to procrastination. So, if you are really serious about cracking JEE in 2019, you must create a study room that is free from all distractions. For example, you must never keep your smartphone with you and the study room should not have a TV or games. You can also fight distraction by positioning the laptop or computer in a way that it is away from the window, removing knick-knacks from the desk and connecting to the internet only when it is a necessity.

#3 Make Use of Productivity Apps

In this age of internet and smartphones there are endless applications that can help you manage your time effectively and also keep a track on your progress. They let you create a to-do-list for tasks you wish to accomplish in a day and tick them off as and when completed. There are so many choices available in both iOS and Android that we are sure you will easily be able to plan your day to perfection while fighting procrastination.

#4 Study According to Your Natural Rhythm

Not everyone can concentrate better early in the morning. Some might find it easier to concentrate and study better at night while others are morning people. The important key to fight procrastination is to identify your suitable study time. For example, if you are better able to concentrate early in the morning, use the early hours to study the most complicated and difficult chapters to polish them well.

    #5 Take Breaks

Taking small breaks and spending a few minutes doing things you like will keep you away from boredom as well as procrastination. After a short break, you will return to study more focused. In fact, it will also boost your productivity by shedding some load off your mind. In addition, regular breaks will help you bounce back to studies like never before.

    Final Words!

Procrastination, as you believe, isn’t an incurable disease that has to stay all your life. It is something that you can easily overcome with the right attitude and measures. With the tips mentioned above, you can easily overcome procrastination and experience the freedom of maximum focus and productivity. Also, be nice to yourself. Being too hard on yourself will be of no good and you will eventually fall deeper into procrastination.
