The National Council of Educational Research & Training (NCERT) is expected to release the NTSE application form 2025 soon on the official website. However, there is no official notification in this regard. The NTSE 2025 exam date will be out soon and students will be able to check the official updates here. The NTSE application 2025 will be done in online and offline modes (varying for different states). It is one of the most competitive and prestigious scholarship exams in India and is conducted every year to identify and nurture the talent of Class X Students. The examination is conducted at two levels: Stage- I (at State Level) and Stage-II (at the national level). The stage 1 exam is conducted at the state level by all states and UTs, while NTSE stage 2 is conducted by NCERT at the national level only for those students who qualify for the stage 1 exam. The students qualifying in NTSE Stage 1 are eligible to appear for the Stage II exam. The NTSE scheme aims to award a scholarship to talented students, who wish to pursue higher education in the Science and Social Studies stream, to help them continue their education.

NTSE Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the NTSE exam, students must fulfill the following criteria:
- Enrolled in Class 10th at any recognized school, such as Sainik School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, etc.
- Candidates below 18 years of age, who are not employed, are eligible to apply.
- Students opting for Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are also eligible to apply for the NTSE scholarship.
NTSE Eligibility Criteria For Students Studying Abroad
Indian residents who are studying abroad can also attempt the NTSE exam under these conditions:
- The student must be an Indian National.
- If the candidate is pursuing class 10th or equivalent, then he/she is directly eligible for Stage 2.
- The candidate should have scored a minimum of 60% in class IX final exams.
- The candidate must opt for an examination center located in India.
- Must request with the institution he/she is studying at along with the attested class IX mark sheet at the Department of Educational Survey Division, NCERT.
- The candidate is eligible for the scholarship only if he/she continues his/her further studies in India.
NTSE 2024 Examination Pattern
This year for both levels, the exam will be divided into two parts i.e. Mental Ability Test and Scholastic Aptitude Test. Each will include 100 questions for 100 marks. The duration will be 120 minutes for each paper which will be conducted through the offline mode (pen and paper test) only and there will be no negative marking in the examination. NTSE 2024 Admit Card
NTSE 2024 admit card has been released by various states and UTs in online mode. Stage 1 of the NTSE exam is organized by different examination authorities or agencies in different states and union territories. All the candidates who have applied for the exam are advised to check and download their admit cards from the website.
NTSE Admit Card 2024 Stage II
The NTSE 2024 Stage II Admit Card will be issued only to all those candidates who clear the NTSE Stage I exam. The Stage 1 Admit Card will be issued by NCERT. Candidates will have to download the NTSE Admit Card for Stage 2 from the NCERT official website.

Students studying in Class 10 for the first time are eligible to appear for the exam. Therefore, one can appear for the exam only one time.
