NEET 2023 Topper: Kaustav Bauri – AIR 3 Shares His Preparation Strategy
Hi friends. My name is Kostav. I joined Aakash BYJU’s in class eleven for a two-year integrated classroom course for NEET. My father is working as a professor in IIT Madras and my mother is working in a corporate company. In class nine, I had developed an interest in science, especially biology, and I was always fascinated about learning about the human body.
My father is an engineer, so he wanted me to go into medicine and choose it as a career. I chose Aakash BYJU’s because I needed a competitive environment for my NEET preparation. Also, Aakash BYJU’s has produced good results in the past. I have also heard about Aakash BYJU’s from my family and friends that the teachers there are very supportive and they have helped many students to crack NEET in the past three months. Before the Neat exam, I had revised my NCRT textbooks thoroughly, up for four to five times, and one month before the exam, I started attending mock tests, and after each mock test I did error analysis and attended the paper discussion sessions, where I realized my mistakes and worked towards improving my weak areas.
Aakash helped me to secure a good rank in NEET at the All-India level. My experience at Aakash BYJU’s was quite worthy and fruitful. The teachers here were very supportive, who gave us exposure to NEET level problems and also organized doubt clearing sessions to strengthen our weaker areas. After joining Aakash, I gained exposure to competitive exam level problems, and at the end I was also able to solve advanced level problems in all three subjects, which helped me to score more in the NEET exam. Be it any exam, you need to get familiarized with the exam pattern so you can see previous year questions and try and solving them, be it Board or NEET.
Boards and NEET have the same syllabus. So, while you are preparing for NEET, you are also simultaneously preparing for the board exam as well. And after taking notes, you can revise them thoroughly and do not leave any backlogs so that you do not get stressed when the exam approaches nearby. The preparation for NEET is a two-year long journey and you will definitely have distractions in these. So, to avoid distractions, I deleted all the social media ads from my phone and I increased my study time so that I could practice more questions per day, and this turned out to be really helpful.
Firstly, one must be undistracted and passionate towards achieving their goal, and when it comes to the preparation, you must read the NCERT textbook thoroughly four to five times and also attend regular mock tests and do error analysis after each test. Attending the paper discussion sessions are also very important, as they help you to realize your mistakes and rectify those and help you to not repeat those mistakes in the future.
