NEET 2018 offline exam was held on 6th May, 2018. The experienced faculty at Aakash sat down and analyzed the paper. We also spoke to students about their reactions and judgment. Here is the complete 2018 NEET Paper Analysis.

This year has seen a sharp increase in the number of students attempting NEET. Approximately 13.4 lakh students appeared for this exam in comparison to the 11.4 lakh last year. This drastic increase is primarily due to the increase in the number of states opting for NEET Scores over state-level Common Entrance Tests for admissions in the health sciences. This also led to an increase in the number of students clearing class 12 exams and various policies and scholarships provided by the government. In the year 2017, NEET has seen only 7.5 lakh registrations, out of which the total number of seats in MBBS and BDS institutes across the country stands at 60,000.

This exam is considered to be one of the most challenging exams across India. Its score is a qualifying factor for securing admissions in any government medical institute in the country, apart from AIIMS and JIPMER.

      Hi Arun

      Thanks for your query.
I cannot tell you the exam number of questions that were from the NCERT Syllabus, but there was a high range of questions asked. Approximately 14/15 questions in Inorganic chemistry was from NCERT, and in Organic Chemistry around 11/15 questions so in a section of 30 questions 25 were from NCERT.
