      • 4. Is Kota best for IIT?
      • 5. Is Kota only for JEE & NEET?

Every IIT JEE aspirant dreams of going to reputed universities such as AIIMS, NITs, and NITs. The NEET & JEE examinations are conducted by (NTA) National Testing Agency, are the only way to enter the best engineering and medical colleges. To ace these exams you will definitely have to work hard and study with the best teachers.

When it comes to the best NEET & JEE, Kota has helped thousands of students in acing these exams. Did you know? Every year, approx more than 1.5 to 2 lakh students go to Kota and realize their dream of getting into the best NEET or JEE College.

One question that trespasses the thoughts of many JEE & NEET aspirants before starting their journey is “If they should go to Kota for IIT-JEE or NEET preparation?

According to many students who have studied in Kota, IIT-JEE or NEET -preparation in Kota is not only hectic in study or preparation but also you adjusting to the place, peers, environment, and food is also a task. Hundreds of unfortunate stories and incidents about students come out of Kota every year, getting the limelight.

Not All Who Study in Kota Crack JEE or NEET

If we look at the bigger picture, not all who study in Kota get admitted to AIMs or IIT. And to check the authenticity of these statements you can check out the metrics, and stats. You will notice that not only 1 percent of students from Kota clear JEE or NEET exams. In fact, the toppers are usually not from Kota.

“In Kota, if you perform well, then there’s no issue, everyone will be sweet with you and take care of you but if it does not happen this way, then you need a lot of courage, determination, and confidence.

Does Going to Kota Guarantee that You Are Learning From The Best Teachers?

You may have heard that Kota is occupied with the top faculty for JEE/NEET. But have you ever thought that, will you 100% get those teachers? Will they teach your batch?

According to many students, who studied in Kota, just because Kota has the best teachers does not mean that those teachers will teach you. Usually, the best teachers only teach the top 2 or 3 batches and the rest are taught by normal teachers. In Kota, only the top batches get the best facilities like – AC classes, separate vehicles, the best faculties, and extra attention.

Most Common Problems Students Face in Kota

The Pressure is Too Much to Handle

When students are in school, up to class 10th the education is very basic, and easy to understand. But when a student goes to class 11th, the syllabus changes drastically, and students who are preparing for JEE/NEET have to face extra pressure on difficulty levels. They have to maintain a balance between both school and their JEE/NEET preparation. Living alone in Kota, away from family makes things even harder for students.

Partiality in Coaching Centres is Real

The students who go to Kota are from different parts of India and belong to different backgrounds. Some may be from rich upper-class families, and some from the middle class. When they study together, and their results come out, peer pressure is difficult to handle. Intelligent students get access to better facilities, as they are the students who get more business from institutes. This discrimination affects the mental health of the students who score average or below average. So, there’s no equality.

    The Cost is Too Much

Students who go to Kota for JEE & NEET preparation have to spend a lot of money for their coaching, dummy school, hostel, and daily needs. This expenditure puts extra pressure on students, and also on their parents.

    No Exposure to Real World

Students who prepare for JEE/NEET in Kota are just busy studying all the time. A lot of them are enrolled in dummy schools. The usual routine they follow is 7-8 hours of study in coaching, followed by 1-2 hours in dummy schools, and then self-study. There’s no time to interact with other students, hence they lack social skills and confidence. They may perform better in exams but they won’t be able to participate in group discussions, presentations, or interviews.

    No Personal Counselling

Kota has been in limelight for not-so-good reasons, and most of the time it’s about the incidents that keep happening to students. Many students have tried to attempt suicide and a lot of times lost their life. It is clear that the teachers are not paying attention to students, as there’s a lack of empathy. They do not monitor the behavior of students in class and fail to identify the signs of depression.
