    Frequently Asked Questions

How to use mock tests to boost your confidence?

After you are done with the mock test, classify the paper into three parts—- unattempted questions, questions you wrote incorrect answers for, and questions that you marked correct but you were not sure about those. First, fix the concepts behind the questions you marked correct but were unsure about. Revise the whole topic once again, and make sure not to be confused the next time you are asked a question from there. Next, check the questions you attempted wrong. Revisit the topic and review it thoroughly. Then practice more questions on the same topic until you feel confident and ready to face questions on it in the main exam. Finally, go through the questions you left unattempted. Revisit the topics they are based on. Practice more questions related to those. The goal is not to miss any concepts and troubleshoot your problem areas. This is how a mock test can effectively boost your confidence. The more mock tests you solve using this strategy, the more confident you will be for the main exam.

5 Benefits of Solving NEET Mock Test 2022

The goal of giving mock tests is to get a taste of the real exam. Instead of feeling depressed about your mistakes, you should use them as an analysis tool to help prepare for the main NEET 2022 exam. The purpose of getting acquainted with your mistakes is to find ways to rectify them, not bring down your confidence and feel discouraged. A mistake made before the exam becomes a correct option on the exam day.

Mock tests help you avoid silly mistakes in the main exam. Most of the time, you know the answer to a question, but because of nervousness and poor time management skills, you make mistakes and attempt a question wrong, which under ideal circumstances, you would have done right because you know the concept behind it. Mock tests help prevent such mistakes by training your mind and increasing your reflexes.

They help you find out the right strategy to tackle the main paper. Almost everyone studies for competitive exams, but only the students who work smart and adopt the right strategies succeed. After solving many sample papers, you get to know your weak points by analysing your performance. As a result, you are extra vigilant while attempting the main paper and avoid falling prey to your weak points.

They train you to apply the concepts you have studied in the form of multiple-choice questions. Competitive exams are not like your board exams, where you can memorise the syllabus, and the questions will come in the question paper in the same format as you have studied them. NEET has multiple-choice questions. If you cram the theory part or even learn the concepts but don’t know how to apply those while solving multiple-choice questions, you will not succeed. Mock tests allow you to learn how to apply your theory knowledge while solving NEET UG 2022 pattern questions

They help you learn time management skills. Time management is always a hurdle to clearing competitive exams. You have to solve many questions within a limited time period. To ensure that you attempt all the questions in the set duration of the exam and are confident about those, giving mock tests is very important. The chances of succeeding in the NEET UG 2022 exam are directly proportional to the number of mock tests you give.

Giving mock tests will make you realise your progress in your NEET UG 2022 preparation. If you keep scoring low in your mock tests, you are still lagging in your preparation and need to work harder. You get to know your areas of weaknesses, and it helps you take your exam preparation on the right track, so by the time it is the moment to sit in the main exam, you are confident and ready to go for it.

They help prevent anxiety related to the main exam. The time before competitive exams is very nerve-racking. Students keep getting anxious by getting nightmares of the main exam. In such a situation, if you have practised more and more mock tests and sample papers, you know that you have worked hard and have the edge over other students. The exam then feels like another mock test. This helps alleviate stress and anxiety and helps you face the exam with confidence.

How many mock tests should you give to solve for NEET 2022?

There is no set number of many mock tests for you to give. You can keep giving mock tests until you feel confident and well prepared. Just make sure you give mock tests related to every topic and do not miss out on any areas. The month before the exam should be devoted to solving mock tests. You can give 25-27 mock tests in the last month before the main exam. It would be best if you did not touch on new concepts during this time. Mock tests can serve as a great reviewing tool. When you analyse a mock test, you brush up on all the topics that you have forgotten, and it helps you recall all the topics you have studied actively.

When should you start giving mock tests?

It will never come if you wait for an ideal time to give mock tests. The sooner you start giving mock tests in your preparation, the better for you. It is better to give mock tests every Sunday from the time you finish 70% of the syllabus. Even if you have a few topics left to study, it does not matter. Giving mock tests is still going to benefit you as later, when you study those topics, you know what kind of questions can be asked from them. Also, it helps you prepare in correspondence with the exam pattern

Giving mock tests is an integral part of any successful exam strategy. Don’t think too much. Keep on working hard, give more and more mock tests and be confident. You are on the right track!

    FAQs

    1. What is the best and the worst time to give mock tests for the NEET exam?

    • Don’t give full-length mock tests until you haven’t finished 70-75% of the NEET Syllabus. If you start giving mock tests before that, you will encounter many questions that you haven’t even touched. It will lead to unnecessary anxiety and self-doubt. You will feel discouraged and unmotivated to move on forward in your preparation. You can still give mock tests for practice if you have only finished 20-25% of the syllabus but don’t take them too seriously or let their results affect your motivation.
    • If you have not started mock tests early in your preparation, don’t worry. Just give at least 25 mock tests in the last month before your exam. If you have finished your syllabus by then, you can achieve excellent results in your mock tests. It will boost your confidence and, in turn, help you achieve excellent results in the main NEET exam.

    2. What are the secrets to strong mock test practice?

    • Keep your energy high while giving mock tests. Don’t give more than one mock test on the same day. It will mentally exhaust you and defeat the purpose of giving mock tests
    • Mental peace is important while giving mock tests, just like it is important while appearing for the main exam. Make sure that you are mentally at ease on the day you plan to give a mock test. Sleep for at least eight hours the night before the mock test. You can only expect good results from your mock tests if you have a positive attitude while giving those.
    • Keep your confidence high while giving mock tests. Believe in yourself! If you don’t trust your abilities and indulge in self-doubt, you are likely to not benefit from the mock tests. It would be best if you practised in a healthy and constructive manner. Confidence is a great tool to tackle any challenging situation. The difference between a topper and an average student is in their confidence level. Students who don’t believe in themselves have already lost the battle.
    • While analysing the results of the mock tests, don’t feel discouraged. Mock tests benefit you whether you do great in those or not. If you perform well, your hard work is paying off. If you don’t, it means that you need to work harder. Know your weak points before the exam day than on the exam day. There is always a scope for improvement.
    • Form a record of all the errors you make in the mock tests. Review those before giving the next mock test. This is to avoid making the same mistakes again.
