    • 5) Not Making Revision Notes

When it comes to board exams, they are the ones that give students nightmares, stress, anxiety, goosebumps, and anything you can think about. Exams do play a significant role but most students go bonkers when they hear the word board exams. Class 10 & 12 students get so worried about the boards that even after taking coaching for individual subjects and studying hard, they end up making the silliest mistakes during board exam preparation. This is why did all the hard work for you and found the most common mistakes to avoid in CBSE board exams:

    1) Studying for Hours At A Stretch Without Any Breaks

While studying for board exams, students think that the number of hours they spend studying will help them in scoring better marks. But this is not the case, as when you study for 5-6 hours at a stretch, your brain will stop working, it won’t be able to focus. Because according to many types of research the concentration span of our brain is 30-40 minutes, after that you’re just reading not studying. The best option would be to study for 30-40 minutes then take a 20 min break.

    2) Starting Preparation Too Late

It’s human nature to procrastinate, but some students procrastinate too much and start their CBSE board exam preparation when only a few weeks are left. If you really want to score decent marks, this is something you should absolutely ignore. Preparing for board exams takes time as you need to study the whole syllabus, starting early would be the wisest decision. If you start your preparation early you will be left with more time to work on your weaknesses and revise the syllabus. You will also be less anxious about the exams because you’re done with your preparation.

    3) No Self Study

No matter if you’re attending coaching sessions and the school regularly, your preparation will remain incomplete without self-study. We totally agree that your regular classes and coaching classes are indeed very important, but if you don’t do self-studying you won’t be able to find out your strengths and weaknesses. You will be clueless about what you know and what you don’t know. Self-study and self-evaluation are two main things you should definitely include in your preparation strategy if you want to score well.

    4) Not Practicing Enough

Practice makes a man perfect, and if you don’t practice enough, you will forget what you have studied. Especially when it comes to numerical in maths, physics, and chemical reactions in chemistry. If you do not practice enough, you might forget some formulas and their applications. This is why the best way to strengthen your CBSE board exam preparation is by practicing more and more, whether it’s your book solutions or previous year’s question papers. After that self-evaluate your answers and improvise. You can also refer to the NCERT Solutions that our experts have prepared to help you.

    5) Not Making Revision Notes

Another biggest mistake students make while preparing for board exams is not making notes while studying. Notes are very important as they act as a quick revision guide when you’re short on time. Imagine you have to revise a few concepts from each subject, will you go through the book again? Wouldn’t it be too time-consuming? This is why to save effort and time, you should always make notes while studying. You can also check out our important concepts page where you can find detailed information on each important topic. You can also download them and use them as your quick revision notes.

We hope the above key information points help you in boosting your CBSE board exam preparation. In case you want to further improve your preparation, you can enroll in your foundation courses for classes 10 & 12, where you will get access to previous year question papers, doubt classes, engaging course content, and more.
