    jee main exam
JEE is one of the hardest entrance exams in India. But it’s your gateway to the esteemed engineering colleges, so it’s worth the grind. Many students don’t perform well in the test not because they are not prepared enough but because of silly mistakes.

Despite preparing throughout the years and sticking to a dedicated schedule there are still some mistakes that IIT-JEE aspirants commit. This is why we talked to many of our students and came up with the 3 most common mistakes every student has made during their JEE journey. Pay attention to these points, so that you don’t repeat them in the future.

    1. Studying From Too Many Books

The most important thing to avoid during your JEE preparation is studying from multiple books. Each book is unique, written by different authors with unique points of view and their way of approaching topics is also different. So, referring to multiple books for a single topic may be confusing. You will be left puzzled and would start wondering which explanation is right.

The best thing to do would be referring to only 1 to 2 books for preparation and 4-5 books for practice papers. You can also find mock tests online on our website along with the notes. Apart from that, you can discuss it with your teachers, they will recommend you the best books.

    2. Not Analysing the Test Papers Thoroughly

Another most common mistake that the majority of students make is not analyzing their exam results. If you have been giving mock tests and solving practice tests, meanwhile ignoring the evaluation then you won’t be able to reap the benefits. The best way to make the most of mock tests is by properly analyzing your performance, finding the root cause behind the mistakes. Doing this will help you in understanding your mistakes and finding out areas that need improvisation.

    3. Not Making a List of Important Topics

Along with different subjects, JEE students have to study multiple topics. When the study material is too much and you have not marked the important topics, you will be suffering while revising. Because the course would be too much to revise in a short period, having a list of important topics and questions will save your time, effort, and energy. They will act as a study guide when your exams are just a few weeks away, and you want to memorize everything essential.

    4. Ignoring Difficult Questions During Practice Tests

If you have been omitting questions just because they seem difficult and might take more time to solve, then it’s high time to stop this habit. You have landed in a comfort zone and because those questions require you to think more logically and implement different strategies, you have been trying to steer clear of them.

Not attending difficult questions will hinder your chances of scoring well in JEE entrance exam. You must have heard practice makes a man perfect, just apply this theory in your JEE exam preparation you will be able to solve everything in no time.

    5. Not Studying Class 11th Syllabus

A lot of students make this mistake and then face drawbacks when they’re preparing for JEE entrance exam. Make sure you don’t repeat this mistake, often students tend to focus more on the class 12th syllabus forgetting the fact that 11th covers all the basics.

When you have a strong fundamental knowledge of class 11th, then only you will be able to easily understand the concepts in class 12th. On the contrary, if you’re lacking the basics, you will struggle in understanding complex class 12th topics. This can again lead to backlogs that many students preparing for JEE tend to have.

It’s okay to make mistakes but it’s not okay to repeat them again and again. This is why you need to evaluate them, take instant action and turn them into milestones of success. Study well, take breaks, and think positive. You will get through it!

You can also refer to mock tests and revision notes available on our website. They have been carefully curated by our experienced faculty members.
