The dates for Term 2 exams have already been released for classes X and XII, students have a month to prepare for the exams. Term 1 exams have already taken place and this is the first time board examinations are happening twice. The term 1 examinations were MCQ-based, whereas the Term 2 exams will be objective and subjective based. Let’s see if this new CBSE exam pattern is beneficial for students or not?
- The new format gives students 5 extra minutes to read the question paper, which is very thoughtful and will probably help students read the questions thoroughly and answer without getting confused. According to many teachers, the idea of a 90-minute board exam is good as because of the pandemic the whole learning, teaching, and grasping process of both students and teachers has undergone a drastic change.
- The syllabus has been divided into two Terms, so the pressure of byhearting the whole book is definitely low. Earlier students had to remember all the chapters, topics, and formulas but with the new CBSE exam pattern, the course material has been divided in half, which will be really helpful for students. As with less syllabus, they will be able to focus more and score well.
- The timing of the exam i.e. 11:30 am will surely turn out to be beneficial for students as they will be able to reach their examination halls on time. They will also get enough time to revise and discuss important topics with their peers before the examination. The students will also be able to get enough sleep because usually, students wake up early to revise on the examination day as they have to reach the examination hall on time and end up sacrificing their sleep. They often feel dizzy during the exam but thankfully this problem is solved.
- The offline examination will be refreshing for students as for the past two years they have been giving online exams. The bifurcation of the exams into a subjective and objective pattern is a good move in order to provide the right judgment and assessment to students as they have been through a lot of hurdles during the pandemic.
