    From a broader perspective, being a doctor means saving lives and curing you of illness. Moreover, India is home to some of the best medical colleges in the world. Before you get into any medical college in India, you should have completed your higher secondary education with a science background. The medical entrance exams are conducted at the state and national level and based on your performance you are selected into various medical colleges of India. The medical colleges in India are governed by the Medical Council of India. These medical colleges offer courses in medical science, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A student needs to select the right college to shape their career and future. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at the list of the best medical colleges in India.

    1. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)

    AIIMS is one of the oldest medical colleges in India. Often ranked at the top, AIIMS operates separately under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. AIIMS offers medical courses in UG, PG, and super specialty and also offers M.Sc. and Ph.D. level research courses. All-India Institute of Medical Sciences was established as an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament that offers various best-in-class medical graduation and post-graduation courses.

    2. Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore

    Christian Medical College, Vellore is one of the most prestigious and oldest medical institutions in India. CMC offers MBBS, PG Courses, Allied Health Science Courses, Diploma courses in nursing, and other fields. Not only this but the institution has many significant achievements in medical history like the first successful open-heart surgery in India, the first kidney transplant in India, and bone marrow transplantation in India. Similarly, admissions to CMC are done based on NEET exam rankings

    3. Maulana Azad Medical College (MAZC), New Delhi

    Named after the freedom fighter, MAMC is a government college affiliated with the University of Delhi. Established in the year 1958, the college offers degrees in nursing and Pharmacy. The campus also houses institutes like Lok Nayak Hospital, Maulana Institute of Dental Sciences, Guru Nanak Eye Centre, and GB Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research.

    4. Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal

    KMC is the first self-financing private medical college in India. Founded in 1953, its medical degree is recognized worldwide. Also, the courses offered at KMC are MBBS, MD, MS, DM, M.Sc, M.Phil, and Ph.D. in various medical fields. KMC takes the scores of the NEET Entrance exam for admission to the college.

    5. Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh

    GMCH is a medical school and a tertiary care hospital located in Chandigarh. This college is administered by Punjab University and offers several medical courses like MBBS, BDS, BHMS, MD, MS, DPN, and M.Phil. GMCH Chandigarh considers NEET Exam scores for admissions.

    6. University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS), New Delhi

    Founded in 1971, UCMS is a medical college in Delhi. It is affiliated with the University of Delhi and is associated with Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital that serves as a teaching hospital. It has different departments that offer paramedical and medical courses. It is also one of the network centres for the National Brain Research Centre and one of the three trauma centres in Delhi. Moreover, the courses offered here are MBBS, MD, and MS. Also, to get admission to this college you will have to clear the NEET Entrance exam.

    7. Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla

    Established in 1966, IGMC is a state-owned medical college and hospital in Shimla. This college is affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University. Moreover, this college offers MBBS, MS, DM, MD, M. Ch., M.Sc., and Diploma Courses. Also, admissions to the MBBS course are done based on NEET Exam scores.

      Great information in this blog to know about top medical colleges. Nice Article. But if you write the blog with some college information like the admission process, education it will be good for your blog. Here I mention the admission process for medical colleges.

      Generic eligibility criteria at any colleges for that matter is that you should have passed +2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects from any recognized board.Students should be passed in neet exam.

      The next step is to procure the application form from either the website or the admin office. Submit the duly filled form along with all the documents requested by the college.
