We all know that the whole nation is battling with COVID 19, and the government has made a firm lockdown decision which means that everything is now locked be it schools, college, or business, etc. It is a crucial moment for all of us. All are sitting at home and getting bored but somehow everyone is still spending their leisure time to explore their hobbies like cooking, gardening and so forth but what about studies? Well, thanks to the latest technologies that are easily available to us even during this crucial time. Online teaching is mounting high day by day. However, many parents have a fear that making their children spending a huge amount of time in front of laptops or computer screens can spell havoc on their health. They want their kids to get involved in other activities as well like cooking, cleaning, dancing, planting so that they remain fit and healthy. And that’s why here balancing your activities in the right way plays a crucial role. Balancing online studies with other activities is very important.

That’s why this article is written. Through this article, we will talk about a few easy tips that will facilitate you in managing your screen time better.

Here are the 3 quick tips for students to manage their screen time:

    1. Manage your view Time

Online education and other activities are very important these days to spend your time but are you managing or balancing your screen time with other activities? It is very important that you allow three hours each day i.e. two hours to your online studies in the morning and one hour for your other activities or socializing online with your friends. Always try to stay within your schedule, do not try to exceed the time you have set for yourself.

    2. Keep Moving

Yes, you read it right. Even in the office, the boss or the managers tells their employees not to sit on the chair for long hours, body movement is also an important thing and this formula is valid when we are at home as well. At the time of using any gadgets do not sit at one place for long hours, after every 20-30 min try to move your body, for instance, do a walk at home from room to the kitchen or in the balcony. Doing this will help you to maintain your energy levels and overall well-being.

Below are a few tips that you can follow:

    – Set alarm or timer on your watch or phone to set breaks while studying online or using any gadget.

    – Do some stretching exercises while studying or if you have completed any episodes of your favorite web series or movie.

    3. Pick two days in a week to binge-watch:

Understandably, leaving your favorite web series in between can be very annoying at times. To prevent this, you can set up two days a week when you can watch your favorite shows. Try to talk to your parents and set a time limit for your web series too. By doing this you can maintain your excitement level and also you will look forward to the binge-watch days or time periods.

In addition to this, here are some things you can do, other than spending time in front of the screens, to keep yourself meaningfully occupied.

Mediate:  Indulge yourself in Yoga or try some other workout. Many fitness trainers are posting free video sessions these days for people to join them and watch their videos while doing exercise or yoga. Get a yoga mat for yourself and try out some mudras. Doing daily meditation will relax your mind in times of uncertainty.

Help your parents with the household chores: This is the perfect time to arrange your bookshelf and almirah. Take your parents’ help, or do it by yourself. Help your parents clean up the dishes too, for sure your parents would love it.

Relish your old memories: Pull out all the old albums and see with your parents, relish some old memories with them as this is the best time to make a strong bond with your parents. Hear some interesting stories from them.

Develop reading Habits: Why not do a reading? Pull out all the books you have kept in your bookshelf and start reading!

Take up the do it yourself project: With all the spare time that you have, there’s no other better time that’s going to come to put your hands on the things you want to do it yourself. Whether it is about redecorating the wall of your room or setting up a hanging garden in the balcony. Find out the tasks that you want to do while you are self-isolating.

Exercise indoors: Most of us plan to start exercising someday or the other, so why not let’s just start it today? What could be a better place to exercise than from the comfort of your own home?

Family Time: Take out the carom board or some other board game like Scrabble, Ludo, and ask all your family members to participate. You all will certainly have a special time as you all bond over board-games.

Well, that’s true it’s a bit difficult to bring some changes in your day to day life but why not try and bring the best out of this time. Also, it is rightly said that limiting your screen time may seem like an impossible task right now, but it is surely worth giving a try!
