Due to the current situation of the entire nation, a lot of questions will be raised in your mind regarding the examination. Isn’t it? Well, as much as the presence of students and exam schedules is important, the safety of teachers, as well as students, is equally important. We are all familiar with the COVID – 19 in India and, in the light of the COVID – 19, the authorities have decided to postpone the examination for 2020. The Covid-19 in India is mounting day by day, and all the exams, whether it is board exams, entrance exams, recruitment exams, school or college exams, have all been postponed. Indeed, Coronavirus could perhaps cast its shadow on India’s most significant UG medical entrance examination i.e. NEET.
As stated by the National Testing Agency, The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET-UG) 2020 schedule for May 3 has been postponed to the last week of May. Accordingly, admit cards that were due to be issued on Friday will be issued after assessing the situation after April 15. Also, the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) will also be rescheduled as the lockdown will continue until April 15. In a notice issued by NTA, it was said that NEET 2020 is proposed to be held in the last week of May 2020. The Exact date will be announced later after assessing the situation. The decision was taken after a meeting between the senior officials of the ministries of health and HRD. As stated by NTA director Vineet Joshi “In view of the hardships faced by parents and students due to the Covid-19 epidemic, NTA has postponed the ensuing NEET (UG) May 2020 exam. NTA advised the students to keep visiting the official website for regular updates and stated that candidates are also being informed individually through their registered mobile number or email ID. After the announcement of the 21-day lockdown across the country on March 24, the JEE (Main) exam scheduled in the first and second week of April too stands postponed. The officials stated “The new dates of the exam are likely to be announced only after the lockdown period is over and subsequent review of the Covid-19 outbreak. NTA will probably wait till school education boards like CBSE announce their new dates for the few exams that could not be conducted due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Earlier, school boards and NTA were supposed to work on the new dates after March 31. But now they will have to wait for a little more till the lockdown comes to an end.
