The National Testing Agency (NTA) is the main body responsible for releasing the NEET Cutoff scores. In 2022, the NEET qualifying percentile score remained the same as the last year. The cut-off marks for NEET 2022 were 50% marks for the general category, 45% marks for PH candidates, and 40% for candidates from the reserved category. NEET Cut-off 2023 will be released by the NTA after the conduct of the NEET 2023 exam on 7th May 2023.
What is the NEET Cut-off?
NEET cut-off score refers to the minimum marks that a candidate requires to qualify for the NEET exam. The NEET cut-off is generally of two types – admission cut-off, and qualifying cut-off. NEET admission cut-off is the last rank at which admission will be granted to a candidate whereas NEET qualifying is the minimum mark that a candidate must score to pass the exam.
As per the previous year’s analysis, the passing marks mentioned in NEET Cut off were 720-138 for the general category and 137-108 for SC/ST/OBC category. Whereas the percentile for the general category was 50th and for SC/ST/OBC category was 40th. All the medical entrance exams have been replaced by NEET, so medical colleges accepting NEET marks will be granted admission on the basis of the NEET cut-off.

NEET 2023 Cutoff: Tie-Breaking Criteria
In several cases, when two or more students secure the same rank, the tie-breaking criteria are used to prepare the NEET merit list. The factors determining the tie-breaking are mentioned below:
- Higher scores in Biology will be considered: The students securing higher scores/percentile in Biology (Botany and Zoology) will be given first preference.
- Higher scores in Chemistry: If the first criteria still exist, then the students scoring higher marks/percentile in Chemistry will be considered.
- Less number of incorrect answers: If the tie still exists, students with less number of incorrect answers will be considered.

The delay in the session has no relation to the cut-off. The cut-off is totally dependent on factors like the number of students appearing, the difficulty level of the paper, the performance of test-takers, etc. Please check the cutoff from the official website as it is released by the NTA.

The validity of the NEET score is only 1 year. Candidates can take admitted to the medical course by using these scores only in a particular year.

How is the NEET cutoff calculated?
