What Is NEET 2026 State Counselling?
NEET 2026 counselling is conducted at two levels. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) handles 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats at mcc.nic.in. The remaining 85% state quota seats are managed by individual state counselling authorities. This article focuses exclusively on state quota NEET 2026 counselling for UP, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala — five states that together account for a large share of India’s total MBBS and BDS seats.
State NEET 2026 counselling is expected to begin after the NEET 2026 result, anticipated in June 2026. Candidates must register separately for state counselling even if they register for AIQ counselling via MCC.
