NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is the common entrance exam for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses (MBBS and BDS) in India. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
After the NEET results are declared, the state governments and the respective counselling authorities release their state-wise seat matrix for MBBS and BDS courses. The seat matrix specifies the number of seats available in each government and private medical and dental college in the state.

You can also check the official website of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for the all-India quota seats in government medical and dental colleges.

How Many Seats are in NEET 2023?
The NEET examination offers 1,01,043 seats for MBBS courses across 660 colleges in India. These seats are divided between government and private colleges, with 52,778 seats in government colleges and the rest in private institutions. Tamil Nadu has the highest number of NEET seats at 11,225, followed by Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh with 11,020 and 9,253 seats, respectively. The MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) will allocate 15% of the NEET 2023 seats, while the state authorities will allocate the remaining 85% through NEET Counselling 2023.
