The 18-year-old said his high score of 715 marks was a result of the 10-12 hours’ of study sessions each day, either through self-study or at coaching classes. He further stated, “My goal was clear even before Class 11, I knew I wanted to become a doctor. I would study my school syllabus with one eye on appearing for the NEET-UG and securing a good rank. Harshit’s father Sanjay Bansal said the family was elated that his son’s hard work paid off. “We didn’t pressure him or ask him to crack NEET-UG. He wanted to become a doctor and was clear right from the beginning. All we did was support him and created an environment at home where he could thrive.”
Harshit has extended his gratitude towards his parents and stated that they were his biggest supporters during the NEET preparation. His father is a businessman and his mother is a homemaker. From an early age, Harshit drew inspiration from the stories of Dr. Trehan, a Cardiologist, who was a close acquaintance of his father. His father told him about the respectable profession and how his patients love and respect Dr. Trehan, which inspired Harshit to pursue the noble profession himself. It was then that Dr.Trehan became a role model for him. If not a Doctor, he would have pursued Engineering.
Harshit Bansal is a student of Aakash BYJU’s classroom program and credited the coaching institution’s preparation strategies, and well-crafted study material as the factors behind his excellent performance.
He also stated, “There was a time when despite putting up all the efforts my scores were not improving, it was at this point when I felt demotivated and was completely shattered.” Before the exams, the course started to seem boring and I felt saturated, and I even took days off from studying. But as the tests got more intensive, I got motivated to push one last time to do as best as I can and prepare with full focus. My family and teachers encouraged me to stay motivated during the entire preparation time.”
In between my studies, Harshit watched TV and played games on his mobile phone and also went out for walks to relax his mind.
Therefore, it is rightly said that with proper hard work and dedication, there is nothing that cannot be achieved.
