With almost every entrance exam being postponed or cancelled, students are anxious to know if the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) which is scheduled for August 1 will also be delayed in view of the ongoing COVID-19 and the recent spike in the active cases across the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently postponed the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) for the April 2021 session.
While the Covid cases are increasing at a high rate, medical students have asked for the postponement of NEET UG Exams. NEET UG is the sole examination for shortlisting candidates to the undergraduate medical exams. This year, the results of NEET can be used for admission to more programmes including in admission to BSc Nursing and Health Science programmes.
Wave two of the Covid-19 pandemic is even worse than the first one and is affecting a large number of people. Among the crisis, keeping the safety of the students is the utmost priority. CBSE and many other state boards have either postponed or cancelled the exams for this year. Not only the students appearing in board exams have requested for postponement, but aspirants of NEET 2021 and other national level entrance exams are also demanding the same. This year, almost every student could not attend school as well as coaching classes due to the Covid-19 situation, all such students are requesting the Education Minister ‘Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank’ to postpone the National Eligibility cum entrance test (NEET-UG) 2021. But, so far there is no final decision that has come out.
So far, the National Testing Agency has only released the NEET 2021 date and the registration for the same has not yet started. Also, the NEET UG 2021 information bulletin is yet to be released.
