With the conclusion of JEE Paper 1 on April 9 and Paper 2A/2B BArch and BPlanning on April 12, candidates are now eagerly awaiting updates on their performance and the next steps in their academic journey.
Traditionally, the National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the answer key shortly after the conclusion of the exam, allowing candidates a window of opportunity to raise objections or clarifications. For the current Joint Entrance Examination (Main) Session 2, the answer key is expected to be unveiled later this week.

Following the consideration of candidates’ objections, the final answer key and results are meticulously prepared. This year, registration for JEE Advanced commences on April 21, with the JEE Main result anticipated to be announced on April 25. Additionally, the provisional answer key for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 is likely to be released on April 13, providing further insight into the examination process.
The ranking criteria and tiebreakers for this year’s JEE Main remain consistent with previous years. Candidates achieving the highest percentile are awarded higher rankings. In instances where students attain identical NTA scores, precedence is given to those with superior mathematics marks, followed by physics and chemistry.
Moreover, the NTA has ensured language inclusivity in the JEE Main 2024 Session 2 exam by offering it in multiple languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu, alongside Hindi, English, and Gujarati. Examinations for the April 2024 Session 2 are being conducted across numerous centres nationwide and at 22 international locations.
In light of recent misinformation circulating on social media platforms, the NTA has issued a clarifying statement addressing concerns regarding voting in the Lok Sabha elections and its impact on examination eligibility. Dismissing such claims as baseless, the NTA emphasizes that exercising one’s voting rights will not hinder eligibility to take examinations. Candidates are urged to disregard such rumors and actively participate in the electoral process.
As the JEE Main 2024 unfolds, candidates are encouraged to stay informed, remain focused on their preparations, and approach the examination process with confidence and clarity. With diligence and determination, success in the JEE Main is within reach for all aspirants.
