National Testing Agency would soon be releasing the JEE Main 2023 notification on jeemain.nta.nic.in. As per the updates, the notification for the engineering entrance examination would be released this week on the official website. NTA is likely to conduct the JEE exam in mid-January and in April 2023.
As for the delay, officials have shared that the decision was taken as Ministry was trying to streamline the exam calendar for 2023. Officials from UGC and NTA have been in discussion to ‘fix’ the exam dates.
As per the reports, JEE Main, NEET, and CUET 2023 exam dates would be fixed soon so that there is no confusion. It may be noted that such was also the system before the pandemic.
While exam dates were not fixed, JEE Main and NEET exam dates were more or less similar and followed a certain timeline of notification release, admit card release, exam date, and result. Disturbed by the pandemic, the dates were however shifted. Taking it a step further, it is likely that exam dates for JEE Main might be fixed. It means that the exam might be conducted on the same date, every year from next year.
As for the 2023 exam dates, the same is likely to be announced this week itself. Though there are reports that the first attempt might be scheduled for mid-January. But there are concerns as that leaves about 6 weeks for students to prepare for the exam.
With JEE Main registration still not done, conducting the exam in six weeks might be a challenge. NTA might conduct the 1st attempt in January but it is more likely after January 20, 2023, rather than before.
Students are advised to keep a check on the official websites and this blog for the latest on the JEE Main exam dates.
