    Attention for all engineering aspirants! Here’s an important update for you.

    The online registration process of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2020 has started from Tuesday i.e. 3rd of September, 2019. Candidates can now apply at the official website that is www.jeemain.nic.in. The National Testing Agency will conduct the JEE Main from January 6 to January 11 in 2020 and the results for the same are expected to be declared by January 31, 2020. The entrance exam will be conducted twice in January as well as April.

    The Joint Entrance Examination is the national level engineering entrance exam conducted to offer admissions in the undergraduate engineering programmes at the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), the Indian Institutes of Information technology (IITs) and other centrally funded technical Institutions across the country. JEE is a single entrance exam for all engineering aspirants in India to take admission into the Engineering/ Science Institutions.

    JEE Main 2020 Eligibility Criteria

    Candidates must be aware of the eligibility criteria as prescribed by NTA. Find below the eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2020:

    Age Limit: There is no age limit in the exam. Candidates should have passed Class 12/ equivalent in the year 2018, 2019, or must be appearing for it in 2020.

    Year of Passing Qualifying Examination: Students who passed their XII or equivalent exam in 2018, 2019 or are appearing in 2020 are eligible for applying in JEE (Main).

    Subjects in Qualifying Examination: Students with Physics and Mathematics along with either Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology are eligible for Paper 1 of JEE Main 2020. For Paper 2, Mathematics is a mandatory subject with 50% aggregate in 5 subjects.

    Number of Attempts: Students can appear for the exam thrice, that too in consecutive years. Appearing for both the sessions in the same year will be counted as a single attempt.

    Note: Candidates must score 75% or above in the qualifying exam or rank in the top 20 percentile in their respective boards to get admission into IIITs/ NITs or CFTIs through JEE Main 2020 score.

    JEE Main 2020 Application Form

    All those candidates who apply for JEE Main January 2020 can also apply for JEE Main April 2020. The details of January candidates will be mostly auto-filled in the form but they will have to pay the application fee once again. Listed below are all the important dates of the exam:

    Documents Required to Fill the JEE Main 2020 Application Form

    While filling the application form of JEE Main 2020, a few important documents are required. The list of such documents is listed below:

    Documents that you need to upload are:

    • Scanned passport size photograph
    • Scanned signature

    Documents that you need to refer are:

    • A valid ID proof
    • Class 12 certificate (if available)
    • Class 10-mark sheet
    • Valid ID proof – Aadhaar Card Number, Passport Number, Ration Card Number, Student and/ or any other Government ID
    • Net Banking/ Debit Card for Online Payments

    JEE Main 2020 Application Process

    • The filling of the application forms for the January session will start from September 2, 2019, by NTA and the registration for April session will begin from the second week of February 2020.
    • The complete online registration process will contain various steps – Online Registration, Filling the Application online, Uploading the images, Payment of Application fee and printing of the Application.
    • The last date to submit the application form online for the January session is 30 September 2019. As for the April, session candidates can submit the application form till March 7, 2020.
    • Candidates are required to submit only one application form. Multiple application forms from one candidate will get rejected.

    Admit Card

    The admit card is released on the official JEE Main website only for all the properly registered candidates. For the JEE Main 2020 January exam, the admit card is released in the 3rd week of December. The admit card contains very important information such as the exam slot, time, date, and venue of the exam. Students are requested to carry a printed copy of the same on the day of the exam. Candidates can access their admit card online by filling in the application number and password. It is vital for the candidates to carry their admit card on the day of the exam. Along with the admit card you are also supposed to carry one photo ID proof and a passport size photograph. Make sure that the photo is the same as uploaded in the JEE Main application form.
