Who Qualifies as a Foreign National?
Foreign nationals are exempt from the JEE Main 2024 examination but must meet certain criteria to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2024:
- They must not hold Indian citizenship, except for OCI/PIO cardholders who acquired their status on or after March 4, 2021.
- Their birthdate should be on or after October 1, 1999.
- If mandatory military service is required in their country after completing class XII (or equivalent), there may be adjustments to the eligibility criteria.
- Foreign candidates are considered separately from Indian nationals, and supernumerary seats, up to 10% of the total, are reserved for them across courses. No additional seats are earmarked for specific groups among foreign nationals.
