The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2023 is currently underway today, June 4, across various locations in the country. The examination is being conducted in two shifts, with the first shift concluding at 12 pm, and the second shift commencing at 2:30 pm and concluding at 5:30 pm. The JEE Advanced is being conducted in Computer Based Mode (CBT). Candidates who are appearing for the exam can download their JEE Advanced admit card from the official website at jeeadv.ac.in. In addition to carrying the admit card and a valid photo ID, candidates are advised to arrive at the exam center as early as possible.

Reaction of students for paper I
Students have assessed the overall difficulty level of the paper as moderate to difficult, rather than easy. According to student feedback, Physics was considered relatively easy, Chemistry was rated as moderate, but Mathematics was perceived to be relatively difficult.
Chemistry: In terms of Chemistry, students noted that it was not well-balanced. Inorganic Chemistry included a few questions directly from the NCERT textbook.
The questions in Physical Chemistry covered topics such as Chemical Kinetics, Ionic & Chemical Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, Atomic Structure, and Thermodynamics (with multiple questions).
Organic Chemistry focused on Amines, Polymers, Biomolecules, Oxygen-containing Compounds, and also included some named reactions. Mixed concept questions were also asked. Overall, students found this section to be of moderate difficulty, with a greater emphasis on Organic Chemistry.
Physics: Chapters such as Kinematics, Thermodynamics, Modern Physics, Capacitors, Current Electricity, Gravitation, Optics, and Electrostatics carried more weightage in the JEE Advanced 2023 exam. Students reported that the overall difficulty level of the Physics section was comparatively easier than the other two subjects. They considered this section to be well-balanced in terms of question distribution and difficulty level.
Mathematics was perceived as tricky and difficult by the students.
The exam featured challenging and lengthy questions from topics like Vectors and 3D Geometry. Additionally, questions were asked from Functions, Matrices, Ellipse, Statistics, and Probability.
There were some commendable questions from Probability, Complex Numbers, 3-D Geometry, and Parabola. Students found this section to be the toughest among the three subjects.
The JEE Advanced 2023 Paper consists of a total of 51 questions, with 17 questions allocated to each subject.
Paper-1 is divided into three parts, namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each part carries a maximum of 60 marks.

Scoring Scheme for JEE Advanced 2023:
- Full Marks: +4 if all the correct options are chosen.
- Partial Marks: +3 if all four options are correct but only three correct options are chosen.
- Partial Marks: +2 if three or more options are correct but only two correct options are chosen.
- Partial Marks: +1 if two or more options are correct but only one correct option is chosen.
- Zero Marks: 0 if none of the options are chosen.
- Negative Marks: -2 in all other cases.
