IIT Delhi is setting up two campuses in Haryana’s Jhajjar and Sonipat. These will be IIT Delhi’s extension campus and the construction work for the same is still underway. As per latest updates, the sonipat campus is expected to be completed by Novermber 2023 and the Jhajjar campus is expected to set up within three years.
IIT Delhi Jhajjar campus is the first institute for Patient Specific Drug development for Cancer Treatment. On 14 August, IIT Delhi organized a workshop to discuss the MedTech and Healthcare Ecosystem for the campus.
It was also stated that the Jhajjar campus will also work in the areas of Performance Enhancement for Paralympians and Sports Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation, Diagnostics, Medical Implants, Device Design and Development and Application of AI/ML in Digital Healthcare along with Medical Imaging with new courses and manpower development.
For the Jhajjar campus in Haryana, M/s NBCC Ltd. has been entrusted with the responsibility of building a boundary wall along with the periphery of the campus along with the sewage system. On the Sonipat Campus, construction of the IoE-funded SATHI Building is in full swing and the work is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The total cost of the project is expected to be around 59.73 crore.
In addition to these two centres, the Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi is also setting up its campus in Abu Dhabi. The international campus of IIT Delhi is expected to offer degrees at the UG, PG, and doctoral levels in a diverse range of programs covering Energy and Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Engineering, Healthcare, Mathematics and Computing, and other disciplines of engineering, sciences, management, and humanities.
