The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) is organised by seven participating IITs (IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, Bombay, Hyderabad, and Guwahati) for B.E./B.Tech., and Architecture admissions at 23 participating IITs. In 2022, IIT Bombay released the application form for the JEE Advanced. For 2023, JEE Advanced will be organised by IIT Guwahati.
Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for JEE Advanced 2023, make sure you meet the following eligibility requirements:
- JEE Advanced 2023 accepts Indian nationals (including OCI/PIO) and international students.
- Qualifications: Applicants must have earned a high school diploma or equivalent in 2023 or 2023 from a nationally recognised school or college.
- Applicants must have PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Math) as an intermediate course.
- The qualifying exam’s 75% rule has been relaxed.
- Candidates may take the JEE Advanced exam no more than twice in two years.
- Candidates must take JEE Main 2023 to be eligible for JEE Advanced in 2023.
- Additionally, candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 1997. Candidates in the reserved category can have a five-year age gap.
- Applicants must have a JEE Main 2023 (Paper 1) score of at least 2,50,000 in all categories.
If any of the conditions presented above are not met, the candidate’s registration gets cancelled. For additional information, check the table below:
Registration Procedure for JEE (ADVANCED) 2023
Applicants who wish to take the JEE (Advanced) 2023 must pay the registration fee listed in the table below.

- In addition to the registration fee, payment gateways/banks may charge service fees, processing fees, and any other fees they deem appropriate.
- Or refunds for registration fees already been paid.
- Test takers are responsible for their transportation to and from the testing centre, as well as any necessary travel arrangements.
- Students will be given payment instructions for the JEE (Advanced) 2023 registration fee when they register for the exam.
Services of a Scribe
According to an official document from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, candidates who are visually impaired or dyslexic (severe), have upper limb disabilities, or have lost fingers/hands may use the services of a scribe for the Computer Based Test platform (amanuensis). Candidates with disabilities who wish to use a writer (scribe) must do so during the online registration process for the JEE (Advanced) 2023.
- The scribe will only assist the candidate in reading the questions or entering the answers as directed by the candidate. They will not explain the questions or make suggestions for answering them.
- To use the services of a scribe, candidates must submit the prescribed request form to the Chairperson of JEE (Advanced) 2023 at the nearest Zonal Coordinating IIT.
- To register for the JEE (Advanced) 2023 online, you must apply along with a copy of your PwD certificate (FORM-PwD [II/III/IV, whichever is applicable]) or a copy of your Dyslexic Candidate certificates (FORM-DYSLEXIC [1 and 2], whichever is applicable).
- The Examination Center will supply a team of scribes coordinated by the Zonal Coordinating IITs through the Test Center Administrator (TCA) (amanuenses). Scribes will be Class XI science students who have taken mathematics as one of their courses. The candidate with PwD/dyslexia (severe) must choose their scribe from this group. The personal scribe of a candidate will not be permitted to accompany them.
- Suppose it is discovered that an applicant has used a scribe or been granted compensatory time but does not have a disability severe enough to require these accommodations. In that case, they will be removed from consideration for admission at any level in the review, ranking, and admission process. In addition, those who have already been admitted to an IIT will have their access revoked.
Registration Document Requirements
To register for JEE (Advanced) 2023, you must provide scanned copies of the following documents/certificates.
All candidates
- All applicants are required to submit a certified copy of their high school diploma or a birth certificate in the absence of one.
- Students who took this exam for the first time in 2022 or whose school board announced their Class XII (or equivalent examination) results after October 15, 2021, will be awarded a certificate of completion. In addition, upload a copy of your Class XII (or equivalent) transcript from 2023.
- Following the relaxation rule, those who sat in the JEE exam for the first time in 2021 can retake it in 2023.
- An announcement in the local newspaper if the candidate’s name differs from what appears on the Class-X certificate.
Candidates seeking admission under the GEN-EWS category
- Must have a FORM-GEN-EWS certificate issued on or after April 1, 2023, following India’s latest rules.
- When registering online, candidates who do not have the GEN-EWS certificate (issued on or after April 1, 2023) must upload a declaration [Declaration instead of GEN-EWS Certificate].
OBC-NCL
- Form-OBC-NCL must have been issued on or after April 1, 2023, per the Government of India’s most recent rules for OBC-NCL candidates. Candidates who do not have an OBCNCL certificate (issued on or after April 1, 2022) must submit a statement [Declaration in place of OBC-NCL Certificate] at the time of online registration. SC/ST
- According to the latest Government of India rules, candidates seeking admission under the SC/ST category must submit a certificate of caste or tribe (FORM-SC/ST).
PWD
- For those applying under the PwD category, the UDID Certificate or FORM-PwD [II/III/IV, as applicable] from the medical authority informed by the applicant’s school is required.
- Dyslexic candidates must submit FORM-DYSLEXIC 1 and 2 instead of FORM-PwD. In addition, the candidate’s certificate must include the word “SEVERE” in the Dyslexia category.
- Each IIT establishes a medical board to assess the candidate’s level of disability at the time of admission. The medical board’s decision is final, and the Board PwD benefit may grant or deny PwD benefit.
Candidates considering compensatory time
- Students must have completed FORM-COMPENSATORY TIME and a copy of the Disability Certificate to the nearest Zonal Coordinating IIT Chairperson.
- Suppose it is discovered that candidates have used compensatory time but do not have the level of handicap that justifies it. In that case, they shall be disqualified from the evaluation, ranking, and admission process. In addition, candidates who have already been admitted to an IIT will have their admission revoked.
- Candidates can request their scribe from the Chairperson of their local Zonal Coordinating IIT.
- Suppose it is discovered that the candidate used the services of a scribe but did not meet the criteria for impairment. In that case, they would be disqualified from the evaluation, ranking, and admission process. In addition, candidates who have already been admitted to an IIT will have their admission revoked.
DS category
- A certificate (FORM-DS) is issued by the separate record offices of Armed Forces Personnel.
Admit Card
- Candidates who successfully register can access the Admit Card from the online registration portal at https://jeeadv.ac.in.
- Successfully registered candidates can download admit cards from 29th May 2023.
- The admit card includes your name and the roll number for JEE (Advanced), photo, signature, date of birth, address for correspondence, and category.
- The location of the exam centre will be printed on the candidate’s admit card.
- Candidates should contact the Chairperson, JEE (Advanced) 2023 of the respective Zonal coordinating IIT to resolve any discrepancies. o Candidates should thoroughly review the information on their admit card.
- If candidates have any problems downloading their admit card, they should contact the Zonal Chairperson, JEE (Advanced) 2023, right away.
- Students must have a printed copy of their admission card and an ORIGINAL ID card to the testing centre to take the exam. An Aadhaar card, school/college/institute ID, driver’s licence, voter ID, passport, or notarized certificate with a photo can serve as ID proof.
