    The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the result of the NEET exam soon. Students can check the same on the official website ntaneet.nic.in.

    If you want to calculate your NEET Percentile, then a candidate must be clear with his NEET Scores and Rank. Here we will help you with the complete steps to calculate the two aspects of the same. But before calculating your rank, students must be clear that for the general category students require a minimum of 50 percentile marks to qualify whereas reserve categories require at least 40 percentiles to be eligible for NEET Counselling.

    How to Calculate your NEET Rank?

    NTA is responsible to calculate and declare a student’s NEET Rank in the rank list. If a student wants to calculate their NEET 2022 Rank before the exam results, they need to analyse the previous year’s NEET score vs NEET Rank.     Tie Breaking Policy of NEET 2022

    In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks/percentile in the NEET-UG 2022, the inter merit shall be determined as follow:

    • Candidates obtaining higher marks/percentile scores in Biology
    • Candidates obtaining higher marks/percentile scores in Chemistry
    • Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Physics
    • Candidates with less proportion of the number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all subjects
    • Candidates with less proportion of several attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Biology
    • Candidates with less proportion of several attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics
    • Candidate older in Age
    • Application Number in ascending order

    How to Calculate NEET 2022 Score?

    Students can calculate their NEET Score with the help of the answer key shared by NTA. Students can match their answers with the answers mentioned in the NEET 2022 Answer Key. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. Questions that have not been answered or have multiple answers will not be counted and no marks will be assigned for the same.

    Total NEET Marks = 180 MCQs x 4 = 720 Marks

    NEET Score = (Total Number of correct answers x4) – (Total number of incorrect answers x 1)

    How to Calculate NEET Percentile?

    Students can calculate their NEET Percentile in the following 2 ways:

    Marks based NEET Percentile

    A student can calculate their NEET percentage with his NEET Score and NEET Topper’s score in that particular year.

    NEET Percentile = NEET Score *100/ Topper’s NEET Score

    Rank-based NEET Percentile

    Students can also calculate their NEET Percentile along with their NEET Rank and the number of candidates who appeared for NEET in that year.

    1. What happens if we mark 2 options in NEET?

    If you mark 2 options in NEET then your answer will not be counted. You will not be given marks for that answer. Make sure to check the option before filling the OMR sheet because once filled it cannot be changed and your answer will not be counted if you have done any mistake.

    2. Is it good to attempt all questions in NEET?

    No, you need not attempt all those 200 questions, that are given only to balance the syllabus reduction in different boards and you have to attempt only 180 questions from each of the four sections mentioned in the NEET UG syllabus.

    3. How are NEET marks counted?

    The question paper will bear a total of 720 maximum marks (180*4). - 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. No marks will be awarded for unanswered questions.

    4. How many marks are required to clear NEET?

    As per the latest trends, the expected cut-off marks for NEET 2022 are 50% marks for the general category, 45% marks for PH candidates, and 40% for candidates from the reserved category.

    5. Is the 600 NEET score good?

    For students to get admitted to the esteemed top 10 medical colleges of the country, scoring 600+ is the bare minimum. Medical institutes across the country consider NEET All India Rank or AIR as the factor that decides their admissions.
