The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a highly competitive entrance exam in India for aspiring medical and dental students. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), NEET is the sole entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate medical and dental courses in government and private medical colleges across the country. One of the most common questions that medical aspirants have is: “How many times can I appear for NEET?”
In this blog, we will provide a comprehensive guide to help you understand the number of attempts allowed for NEET and other important details related to the exam.
NEET Attempts Limit:
As per the latest guidelines by the NTA, there is no limit on the number of attempts for NEET. Candidates are allowed to attempt NEET as many times as they want as the NEET upper age criteria has been removed by the authorities. However, the minimum age to sit for NEET is 17 years.
Earlier there were age restrictions to sit for NEET. Candidates belonging to the general category could apply till the age of 25 years while there was a relaxation of 5 years for the reserved categories.
Although there is no attempt limit for NEET, which means that candidates can appear for the exam as many times as they want, candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria and other requirements as specified by the NTA and the respective state or central government to be eligible to appear for NEET.
